"Thank you so much to Baguley Tesco for all you did tonight," she wrote.
"You were all amazing thank you so much for the way you dealt with the situation and treated us all."
Greater Manchester*police confirmed a man*had*been arrested.

wtf? jesus

Paula D 07-09-2016 10:37 AM

Jesus, even if he did think it was a doll, wtf??

bots 07-09-2016 10:43 AM

it is literally unbelievable. If I had been an onlooker I would have dropped the guy on the spot

user104658 07-09-2016 10:45 AM

I'd have been politely requesting that the store neglect to call the police... because there's no way I'd be able to stop myself from ending up in the back of the van too in that situation.

bots 07-09-2016 10:53 AM

i mean, its not even normal to go up and randomly punch someone elses doll in the face either is it ... lame excuse.

Why would two adults be showing a doll off to their friends anyway? :/

Lostie! 07-09-2016 10:58 AM

He thought it was a doll so he just had a compulsion to go up and punch it?

I hope he does some long time for Gbh. I hate to think of this idiot out in public.
I don't believe the doll excuse for one minute but even if he thought it was why would you do that to perfect strangers and why distress the 7 year old whose doll it would likely have been in that scenario.

Exactly, obviously someone with evil violent tendencies either way.

I would have punched him to death there and then. Absolutely no doubt about it.

I hope he receives a jail sentence, because more than a few prisoners will be eager right now to treat him like a punchbag.

A thought just occurred to me, a 5 day old baby could die from a punch like that. That man should be charged with attempted murder.

Another report on this saying the man was a work colleague of the father. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england...ester-37294307

I remember something like this happening in our local supermarket, someone with obvious mental problems punched a toddler while she sat in a trolley, her mom was so shocked and upset ,the guy who had been out with carers was no where to be seen so presumedly his carers had fled by car which was cowardly to say the least, the girl was ok but obviously upset and shocked,i cannot imagine the power a punch would have on a newborn,I am glad this guy was caught.

Mystic Mock 07-09-2016 02:36 PM

He clearly likes his punch.

Vicky. 07-09-2016 02:40 PM

I would have been the one locked up if an adult hit one of my kids tbh. What a ****ing dickhead.

Saph 07-09-2016 02:56 PM

It's a joke because he punched the baby.

In all seriousness though what an excuse that he came up with for his thuggish behaviour.:joker:

I'd sentence him even higher for the pathetic excuse.
