What are the good old days to you?

People use this phrase a lot

What is the first thing you think off when you hear it?

y.winter 11-09-2016 01:51 PM

2008-2009, Eleventh grade

Or, being really really young and careless.

armand.kay 11-09-2016 01:59 PM

Year 7-9 when I basically had no worries.

Ithinkiloveyoutoo 11-09-2016 02:09 PM

no bills or responsibilities. Good music, good films, attaching what you would like for yourself to characters from those films you cherish, dreams of a wonderful future and looking forward to it, friends and being careless together.

Present-bills, responsibilities, health, fantasies grinded to dust as they will never happen as you imagined it, war, racism, nasty people, sexism, prejudice :(

Life changes all the time, good and bad all along he journey.
The good old days to me would be having my dear dad and other loved ones still in my life.
I suppose the good old days are whatever gave us the best memories in years gone by.

Babayaro. 11-09-2016 03:56 PM

Anything up to 2006 tbh

Jason. 11-09-2016 03:57 PM

Babayaro. 11-09-2016 03:59 PM

Well I should say anything up to 2007 lol, as 2006 was a great year

caprimint 11-09-2016 04:18 PM

Probably about 2009/2010. Most of the years before that I don't even remember.

I love my life so it's all good

BigSister 11-09-2016 05:44 PM

1996-2005 really. When I was at school and college and had no worries and didn't have any illnesses.

Disgusting.

Ammi 12-09-2016 05:08 AM

...all of them are good old days, there are good old bits in all of them...

joeysteele 12-09-2016 08:51 AM

Not so old days as I am just 24 now but for me the years I had with my Grandmother who was a strong guiding light in my life all through childhood, as much as my Parents were too.

So I would choose any period where she was in my life.

However to expand this a little if I may, reading about recent times past, for me I often wish I had lived in the 1960s.
The whole decade seemed to be about change and fun too,the music too, I love the music of the 1960s, it must have been great to watch so much talent and really great singers, proper singers.

jennyjuniper 12-09-2016 10:23 AM

The good old days to me are from the 1960's to the 1980's. The music was the best it's ever been. Fashions ditto (the 80's are NOT included in this)
Women behaved more like ladies and consequently men behaved more like gentlemen.
Ice cream tasted better then. Letters were written with pen and paper and the world seemed to move at a much slower and more relaxed pace.

THIS ^

The older I become, the more appealing even the 'bad times' seem in retrospect, because I was younger and those 'bad times' - as you so rightly say my dear Ammi - WERE surrounded by 'good bits'.

Drew. 13-09-2016 08:35 AM

Was lucky enough to grow up down a quiet road with friends that lived down here surrounded by fields and woodlands so any time pre secondary school when technology was pretty **** and we spent every day outside making our own entertainment without any care. So up until 2004/2005, they were the days
