Lady Gaga, Leona Lewis and others to Cover Amy Winehouse songs in ultimate tribute

Following Adele's emotional tribute to Amy Winehouse on tour in Boston, Lady Gaga will also be honouring the late singer's legacy by covering one of her classic songs to raise money for the Amy Winehouse Foundation.

The special track will feature on Amy's dedicated YouTube channel, in a bid to raise money for the charity founded after the star's tragic death in 2011.

Speaking to The Sun, Amy's dad Mitch Winehouse revealed that another huge singer will also be taking part in the tribute


"We've got this new YouTube channel where stars all over the world are going to do an Amy track and however many hits we get after the first 2 million, we start making money for the Foundation," Mitch said.

"Leona Lewis is going to do one, Lady Gaga will do one, and a few other stars.

"Hopefully it's going to be a source of revenue for the foundation. We need money and that's a great way to get cash and remember Amy, go on YouTube and have fun."

Why is that? Is it a Youtube thing, or is it because the first 2 million hits pay the artists/Mitch a salary? :suspect:

If they want to give money to the foundation they can donate some of their wealth (which those listed have a LOT of)! Call me cynical but this is a vanity project imo.

The 'Amy' documentary was a perfect tribute to her (as well as great way of bringing attention to the foundation) but of course he was outspokenly against that... because he didn't come across well :bored:

Gaga's going to murder already-dead Amy 5 years later, like she murdered Bowie with that awful performance on whatever ceremony it was? Don't, please don't.
At least bring Lorde afterwards to clean up the mess she leaves.
