Why do people on the interwebz....

Use the word 'then' in place of 'than'?

I see it so much that it almost makes me question my own grammatical knowledge. It only seems to be on the internet.

:joker: Yeah I've noticed this to be a common thing too. It's really annoying and there's such an obvious difference.

Niamh. 22-09-2016 06:48 PM

bots 22-09-2016 06:52 PM

i thought people were better then that.

Only ever on the internet have I seen the phrase 'I couldn't care less' written as 'I could care less'. The second makes no sense, as it implies you do care.

I've heard people use the latter loads but I agree, it makes no sense to me at all.

Yeah I echo what other people have said in that it's the American version of that phrase, I've heard it lots on American TV shows
