DTM's 31 Day 80's Horror Challenge
So decided to try a give this a go, will watch a horror film each day that was made in the 80's. If you have seen any and would like to comment then do so.
Day 1 Film: Ghost Story (1981) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ghost_Story_(film) https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikiped...host_Story.jpg I liked this film actually, it was nice to have the focus of the main characters being in their later years instead of dumb teens/young adults. It was a passable ghost story as well, not scary but good enough for me. The music score was good as well, altough I did find it too over-powering for some scenes it was difficult to hear what was being said. 3.5 out of 5 score for me |

I haven't seen Ghost Story actually, so I'll add that one to my watch list. |

Interesting thread... I don't watch a lot of horror now...but I do recall some from the 80's that creeped me out. I will chime in if I get the chance

Day 2 Film: The Other Hell aka Guardian of Hell (1981) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Other_Hell https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikiped...ther_Hell_.jpg This had a very american horror asylum feel to it. The dubbing was god awful, but thankfully Goblin provided the music score; granted not as great as Dawn of the Dead or Suspiria, but still one of the highlights of the films. Again the film was okay, nothing wow about it. Few good blood and gore moments but that is it. 3 out of 5 |
Day 3 Film: Killer Party (1986) https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Killer_Party https://upload.wikimedia.org/wikiped...oster-1986.jpg I liked the twist at the start where it was a movie, with in a music video, within the actually movie, had a scream 4 feel to it. It was okay, but it was trying to hard to be like evil dead meets a slasher film. Interesting try, but for a horror comedy I laughed about 2 times. 3 out of 5 for me |
