Congratulations are in order for Janet Jackson, who has officially announced that she's expecting her first child at the age of 50 with her husband Wissam Al Mana.

She showed off her bump and confirmed the happy news to People, saying: "We thank God for our blessing."

Janet announced that she was cancelling her tour in April in order to concentrate on starting a family.

"My husband [Wissam Al Mana] and I are planning our family. So I'm gonna have to delay the tour," she said at the time.

"Please, if you can, try and understand that it's important that I do this now.

"I have to rest up, doctor's orders, but I have not forgotten about you. I will continue the tour as soon as I possibly can."

In March this year, Janet cancelled all dates on the UK leg of her tour just weeks before they were due to take place, leaving her British fans very upset in the process.

The singer later promised to reschedule these shows, but it's unclear as to whether this will happen since she announced her plans to start a family.
