Christmas Eve/Day routines

I know it's early but I'm feeling festive. Tell us your Christmas routines. Eve/Day/whatever.

Christmas is the most wonderful time of the year :hee:

Normally i'm up at about 6am christmas morning all presents open by 8.30 and then just have a shower and then have lunch about 1pm and then just relax until about 5 when we have a buffet and drinks but this time is different because i'm working christmas day :bawling:

I love everything about Christmas. Present buying and wrapping. Planning food shopping. Decorating the house etc.,
Here in Denmark we have two Christmas dinners. Roast pork, brown potatoes and red cabbage on Christmas eve and turkey on Christmas day. We open our presents on Christmas Eve, although I wouldn't mind waiting til the next day.
I love to sing along with the carols, especially the old fashioned kind and by the way I still say HAPPY CHRISTMAS, instead of the pathetic Happy Holiday, that the Americans have decided is inoffensive to anyone. If anyone is offended by Happy Chgristmas...tough.

Our plans seem to differ slightly each year..

We (Myself and my partner) always open our gifts at midnight though, we have a cup of tea and chat whilst we open our gifts to each other first and then our gifts from other people.

Christmas morning we get up ready and out and that's normally us until late that night, we normally spend the day with family, having dinner etc.

Ammi 17-10-2016 08:14 AM

..the last few years we haven't really had a routine now that the boys are older and have their own places...so we've make a different routine each year now...this year we're all going away so it'll be a new routine again and something quite exciting to look forward to...

Bump! Hopefully people are feeling more festive this time around :clap1:

On Christmas Eve have new PJs, order a takeaway usually (not this year as we're having a buffet at about 9 PM) then drinks and TV.

On Christmas Day wake up about 7am by the sister and then after the fire has been lit and a cuppa has been done we open prezzies. Get dressed for dinner, drinks, eat dinner, more drinks, Christmas telly then bed.

We leave early on Christmas eve to go to whatever house my boyfriends family is celebrating at, stay for lunch and dinner, open presents at midnight, sleep over, go home and look after the cats, go back for dinner on Christmas day and then go back home and chill for the rest of the night.
