I keep meaning to look into going to the experience in London (where this was filmed) but haven't yet got round to it. I've heard it's really good though

It's a shame they had to reboot this with a celebrity special but hey that's our obsessive culture  I'll watch it, hopefully it gets a respectable enough figure so they can commission a series

Jack_ 16-10-2016 05:43 PM

Richard will always be missed tho

I think the team are banking on a commission if this rates well (similar to how TFI got a series after the anniversary special) - they're opening another experience in Manchester next year at one of the old Granada studios, so they'll definitely have the venue to film a series. That being said, Stephen has said that he's not sure about hosting a full series, so they'd have to find a new host (or get Richard back) if he's not on board with the idea.

Looking forward to watching this, such a classic show

I thought Ed Tudor Pole was pretty good when he took over from Richard. Problem was he suffered from David Moyes syndrome where he never got the respect he deserved because his predecessor was so amazing.

James 16-10-2016 07:45 PM

I didn't realise this was tonight. Thanks for the reminder.

Why do TV show revivals insist on doing that?

T* 16-10-2016 08:10 PM

this feels very forced

Amy Jade 16-10-2016 08:11 PM

Me and my brothers would probably be the only ones interested  I know no one in real life who watched it

Ed was fine, but he had nothing on Richard

Probably to ~modernise~ it or some crap but most of the time the original hasn't aged at all

Jack_ 16-10-2016 08:20 PM

Sara going up in my estimations for voting to remain :joker:

James 16-10-2016 10:14 PM

I enjoyed it.

Jack_ 16-10-2016 10:18 PM

It was alright for nostalgia reasons, I'm not sure Stephen is the right fit as host though so I'm glad he's said he couldn't commit to a full series

I did however enjoy his near the knuckle Radio 1 joke :laugh2:

Amy Jade 16-10-2016 10:35 PM

Merchant was awful. Hope they do a full series and get somebody else.

Natalie. 17-10-2016 07:06 AM

Eh didn't like Merchant in it
Hope if they do a new series they wear the outfits they used to

_Tom_ 17-10-2016 01:22 PM

Yeah it was good for nostalgia purposes, but apart from that meh? Not really must-see.

_Tom_ 17-10-2016 01:23 PM

The set and dome isn't remotely as impressive as the original.

zakman440 17-10-2016 01:41 PM

3.1 million in the ratings last night - very respectable. I should think that Channel 4 are looking into a series.
