Kent University chose Zayn Malik as face of Black History month

Kent University's student union has come under fire after naming Zayn Malik and Sadiq Khan as faces of Black History Month.

Unsurprisingly, angry students have attacked leaders of the union for picking the former One Direction star and the Mayor of London.

One student posted on Twitter: "I'm so disgusted at @KentUnion they are celebrating an Asian popstar in honour of BLACK history month," while another wrote: "I respect Sadiq Khan, and have nothing against him. But @KentUnion how he represent black history month?"


Union president Rory Murray has apologised if "any offence was caused" but his statement merely provoked a further backlash and calls for him resign.
