I was really in the mood for this for some reason, I loved it :flutter: Your voice suits Bob Dylan really well :love:

Hi Jamie, :wavey:
I agree, I think Kirk sings it better than Bob.
Great vocal Kirk! :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

Thank you Jamie - ever kind and supportive as usual. I was really not in a 'good place' when I recorded this. :blush: but I love Dylan anyway.

...Van Gogh did his most inspired brush strokes at the times he was in the most turmoil and emotional pain in his life, Kirk...great things come from darker places and this cover/recording is a great thing.../well done you two guys, this is really very good...:love:..

Thank you Ammi. That is kind of you to say - as always - and I appreciate it.
I agree about the times of personal suffering being great times for creativity, because some of my best fiction writing has been produced at such times.

At the same time as this song, I recorded Johnny Cash's version of Kris Kristofferson's 'Sunday Morning Coming Down', which I love because it's such a beautifully poignant and wistfully sad song, and I am really pleased with my effort.

...Van Gogh was probably not the best comparison../different type of art but evenings aren't my best so it was what came into my head..:laugh:...but Johnny Cash and a music hero of yours..?..he was a very troubled soul also in his family life and with issues with his father so I'm sure, his darker places inspired also in some of his best lyrics and performances...Bob Dylan as well, his lyrics are definitely not from brighter and happy places...:laugh:.. one of the all time greatest musicians..and in Bob's own words and lyrics and one of my personal favourites of his songs....'behind every beautiful thing there is some kind of pain..'.....you've found your voice in song Kirk and something you've enjoyed doing and you have your writing as well and another love...so maybe in those darker/most inspired times, combine the both in song lyrics...?...feel your inner Dylan and let it flow through the music..:love:..Bob's all very well and good and did well for himself etc but he's not Kirklancaster...and he's not your emotion...

Sorry to hear that Kirk, and not to trivialize it or anything but that probably helped make the song better, the emotion in your voice etc, which is probably why it struck a chord. Hope you're ok though :love:

Thank you Cherie. It means a lot to both of us to have some feedback.

Heard this song covered a couple of times on The Voice USA and thought it was boring as hell but I actually quite like your version, your voice suits it and gives it more substance. :thumbs:
