Not "because of" Brexit; it's being declared a "Brexit win" because it's happening despite brexit, as in, Brexit hasn't stopped it from going ahead. The plans will have been in place before the vote.

Nissan tend to be grandad cars.Hope there's something new and exciting with some balls(bhp).

Put simply - this makes a complete nonsense of all those knee-jerk reaction, doomsday prophecies by some bitterly disappointed 'Bremainers' who were 'wishful thinking'.

:joker: Come on, you know it's going to be family hatchbacks...

...Says the guy with two kids in the back of a Golf Plus TDi :umm2:...

:fist: but it has ample head and leg room and space for a 3rd person to fit comfortably in the back alongside both car seats, goddamnit!!

It's one company, I get the 'glass half full' thing but jeeeze this is a reach considering how much money the economy has lost thus far and how many businesses have vowed to pull out of the UK after brexit. :/

It's decent enough, got more behind it than a lot of "family cars". The "Plus" is basically a Golf engine in a slightly bigger body (more space in the back, bigger boot, taller, more leg room). Also "reliable" AF; we've had a few minor body niggles (central locking problems has been a big one) but we have never had ANY mechanical problems at all. Ever. Not even a slow start.

...now I just sound like I'm trying to sell a Golf...

Anything that helps secure good jobs for people is a really good thing.

What is not known is what may have to be the extra costs which the company may have once we leave the EU,and just whether the govt. will now carry the load or greater part of any extra costs for the company.
However, if the govt fails to get a good deal as to leaving the EU, the govt is right to carry the costs to companies in that event.
Whether it can or even will do that for all companies who may now queue up as to that,we don't know.

No doubt however a sigh of relief for the workers there and it is good news.
