I have just had a idea - I might sell my poetry on the dark web :cheer2: if my poems stop on TIBB forum- you no I have made it big and I am living up big time.

arista 02-11-2016 06:52 AM

Bitcoin is real money. - you can buy Bitcoin. Internet Money
With your real credit card
Then you can buy many deals in Bitcoin. Formay on the market's
And on the Dark Web

And Hog
Never sell your words on the Dark Web
Someone in Asia will Buy the Lot with Bitcoin
Then Print it all in Asia into a a real book
But without your name on it etc.

DarkWeb is full of sellers and Criminals

..I never really understand what the dark web is and how you would know if you'd reached it by accident or something.../you could be looking for a gif or some such thing or googling something topic related and then find yourself through a dark web door....

...ahh ok Arista..(thank you....)..I didn't know how it worked and that you have to have a special password key/type thing...I have wondered with some of the topics/threads etc discussed over time and stuff I've googled which have been relevant...how easy would that be to explain when the police come knocking, eh......I'll just give them the links to the TiBB threads I guess and say, look that was the reason, t'was all so innocent...

arista 02-11-2016 07:23 AM

In General
Any using the Dark Web will not be known
As the whole point of it, is not to be. traced.

It's only if Police. Arrive on another matter
And then find a Dark Web up on a laptop or Desktop PC

...yeah and I guess that alerts then to criminal activity just by finding it../an intent type thing...I understand a bit more now, Arista...I had heard the mention of a few times but didn't really understand it, how you would know if you were there when you hadn't meant to be..?...thank you for explaining, this is why we're so lucky to have you as part of our lives on the forum...

......the reason why I was thinking about it as well was because strangely the other day I had a conversation about Sooty and how when she was posting some lovely pics in her pic thread../some scenery ones I think..they had come up/just changed to dodgy ones after she had posted them and they looked just fine when she posted them...she was devastated obviously and so embarrassed but I hadn't known that could happen either.../that th links could take you to sites you probably don't want to be on and that also the images could just change themselves...and oooops, she's not the Edelweiss I was looking at on the Swiss Alps....(very lovely as she is..)...

Don't panic Ammi! Essentially the "dark" web is what it sounds like - it's "in the dark", not indexed by search engines, inaccessible through normal browsers. That means you CAN'T stumble upon it through a search, there are NO links to it from other websites, and you need special software to read it. The information is encrypted and IP addresses are masked so that it's entirely anonymous.

However I would suspect that these tickets are probably bought through the deep web... not the dark web. The media tends to mistakenly confuse the terms but they are not the same. The deep web is anything on the internet that can't be accessed by search engines or by just following a link - i.e. anything that requires "members only" access privileges is deep-web. For example, the "Private Chat Threads" section of this site is technically a shallow part of the "deep web"... and the staff-only subforum (I assume there is one!) is a deeper level than that.

But yeah... I can't see something as petty as dodgy train tickets being dark-web, much more likely an unindexed (in search engines), secure "members only" deepweb site.

Kizzy 02-11-2016 10:33 AM

Well I just went to try find some train tickets....no joy :(
