is christmas arriving to soon ( news debate )

is christmas arriving to soon ( news debate ) 04.11.16

shops have a business plan
they are very cunning
always predicting your next self scan
xmas merchandise sales need to be stunning.
putting up the tree
along with lights and tinsel
hinting for a shopping spree
christmas in your head is the stencil.
songs on loud speaker
mince pies being freshly made
did you see that attention seeking streak er
what set him off i blame slade.
all rushing round filling
the meaning of xmas is lost
2016 xmas tale is chilling
its solely about cost.
buy more and more food
the ones that leave fat and stodge
a very wasteful period i conclude
pass me that whisky i got a mince pie lodge.
in control of this balloon
christmas must only start in december
lets put a end to it starting to soon
us consumers have feet the shops must remember.

( hi everyone - I can not remember what news channel this was on this morning but it really got me thinking ? I no shops have to be ahead of the game but I just wonder is it getting earlier and earlier every year and do we need to take back control or am I a bar hum bug and should remain silent ?)

this is my way to get us all into Christmas spirit = never to early for the best ever Christmas song. :joker: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6V5mtUff6ik

I don't mind it, put one or two extra items in the trolley each week and you don't have that huge bill on Christmas Eve :smug:

For Hog:

Christmas Gets Earlier
Last year, as I lay asleep in a chair
I awoke to the strangest sound
From the fire flue came a fall of soot.
Then a pair of black boots hit the ground.

Frightened, I pretended to still be asleep
But I peeped on from one half closed eye
As from out of that sooty chimney flue
Emerged my favourite fat jolly guy.

It was Santa!! And he saw me peeping
As he walked on unsteady legs
"I know it's EASTER not Xmas" he smiled,
"But I've brought you, your Easter Eggs"

Yes I will  I've done it the other way as well, left every thing until the last minute, it's not for me as I don't enjoy dashing around shops or shopping in general :bawling:

This really.

I prefer to spend a couple of weekends during October/November Christmas shopping then theres no big rush nearer the time.

I also enjoy seeing all the decorations and stuff in the store, I could look through them all for hours :flutter:

Cherie 05-11-2016 07:54 AM

Josy and I look down at Kizzy from our lofty perches :flutter:

A curse on both your houses!

Joking aside, you're right to be fair if you have the room in the freezer and enough self control not to eat the goodies buying the non perishables in advance is a great idea before they bang the prices up food wise :fist:

I'm going to go into town next weekend with my daughter ( it's her birthday) and get some things for the tots in the family, get the ball rolling.

I actually bought a bauble this week, just because I couldn't stop looking at it!

Merry Christmas! :)
