Do you eat before or after going out drinking?

Do you have something to eat before you start drinking or do you wait until after?

I used to eat nothing before and get a takeaway after but I get too drunk too quickly and end up too ill to enjoy the night if I drink on an empty stomach so I've started having something to eat before going out.

~Don't dare come in like 'Oh I don't binge drink I'm sensible I drink with my meals so where's my option :) ~

Niamh. 09-12-2016 11:44 AM

Before definitely, depending on the night/where we were going I might get some sneaky chips after too

Jessica. 09-12-2016 11:51 AM

I usually only have alcohol with a meal but if not I would usually eat beforehand.

Be careful not to pile on the pounds!

caprimint 09-12-2016 11:58 AM

Usually before but not too much or else I'm too full to drink much :worry:

Never after though, makes me feel even more sick.

Jordan. 09-12-2016 12:37 PM

Eating after drinking always sobers me up and make me less likely to have a hangover in the morning

I can confirm this doesn't work :idc:

You just throw up all the food then as well as the drink

If you're an unclassy individual who can't handle their drink I guess

Let's not pretend you've never done it before :idc:

armand.kay 09-12-2016 03:06 PM

both :worry:

but I must add pre pre drinks meal is the difference between me 1 hour in and me actually making it out the house... and being drunk activates my appetite, cal don't even start I'm already ashamed of myself.

Withano 09-12-2016 03:10 PM

Sometimes before, sometimes after, sometimes both, sometimes neither. No real tactic.

Jamie89 09-12-2016 03:11 PM

Both but only a little bit before and a big kebab after

Ashley. 09-12-2016 03:16 PM

On most occasions in which I'm out with work or with friends we usually go out to eat before then move along (but I usually drink with the meal, sorry Cal x)

Alf 09-12-2016 03:22 PM

I usually need a feed after I've had a skin-full, to soak up the beer.

When I first started going out drinking (many moons ago), I used to drink milk before-hand, because I was told it lines your stomach for the torture you're about to put it through.

I think that's just an old wives tale

If I were going on a night out at uni I'd usually have something small at about 5pm and then hit the 24/7 mcdonalds on the way home.

But I've never been drunk enough to consider a kebab or food van.

Marsh. 09-12-2016 03:54 PM

Before (and maybe after).

I can't drink on an empty stomach that's guaranteed to make it a messy night of vomiting.

i had a lot of chocolate milk before going out once and i got myself in such a state... anyway because of the chocolate milk my puke looked black so my friends were really worried because they though I was throwing up blood

Cherie 09-12-2016 04:42 PM

Before usually..and after I have the munchies :umm2:

Adamw92 14-12-2016 06:55 PM

Both  always eat beforehand so I have something to line my stomach otherwise I'll end up ill. I tend to get hungry at the end of a night out and usually get food to eat when I stumble into the house.

caprimint 14-12-2016 08:40 PM

I did both last night and I was still sick :worry:
