Hollywood star Angelina Jolie has adopted her fourth child, a three-year-old Vietnamese boy.

Jolie, who already has two adopted children and a biological daughter with partner Brad Pitt, picked up the boy from an orphanage in Ho Chi Minh City.

Government officials said the boy was renamed Pax Thien Jolie.

Jolie and Vietnamese officials have signed adoption documents, and the procedure will be finalised once US embassy officials approve the paperwork.

Senior officials said Jolie's adoption had been speeded up, partly due to her celebrity status.

Son number two for actress The child, who was abandoned at birth and had been at the orphanage since 2003, had been registered as Pham Quang Sang.

Jolie, 31, filed adoption papers in early March through an unidentified American agency without Pitt, because under Vietnamese law, an unmarried couple may not adopt a child.

The couple say they have no plans to marry but are committed to raising their children together.

Their biological daughter, Shiloh Nouvel, was born last year, while Jolie adopted Maddox from Cambodia and Zahara from Ethiopia before her relationship with Pitt, who is now their adoptive father.

She's going to be busy with her four children! How cool that they're all from different races, different continents even. Maybe that was what she was aiming for...

coz adoption delays are usually about money,that isnt a problem for her.

Each time I see celebs adopting now i just feel they are making it a fashion and dislike it. I am sure the child will have a great life and never need a thing but she shouldn't wave them around like they are a new hangbag.

Angelina adoptedn before it was in fashion,and she has said since she was 18 she was going to give as many kids around the world a family.

I think Angelina is an exception to the adoption 'trend'. She adopted Maddox and Zahara before it suddenly became popular and she and Brad have always said they wanted lots of children. They do seem genuiely good parents so why not give a child a better chance at life?

He wouldnt have children with Jennifer after 7 years and he ends up adopting 2 children and having one.

^^^ It was Jennifer who didn't want children though! Brad was the one who wanted to settle down and have kids, or at least that's what everyone's told me and what used to be in the papers.

Emmm Jen wanted kids,they couldn't actually have them not didn't want them.

Why do they keep adoptin from african countries, like theres no poor american children or european???

I had this debate with soph before.
Basically the children in america and europe wont die if not adopted,and they will still get medical attention and education.African (and other 3rd world countrys) chilldren wont get any of these things and are most likely to die.Thety deserve priority

The delays are largely due to looking into history and doing paperwork, but it appears she's beyond paperwork.

I don't mind tbh, cos this kid is getting a good life with a good family and she's a great mother - I just think it's sending out a bad message.
