What vegetarian meat/meal are you having for Christmas?

A thread for us veggies!

Stace, Cal, Lostie and myself.

None. I 'm not fussed on the meat or a substitute.

The mash, roasters (although I could take or leave them), yorkshire pudding, veg and gravy are enough for me.

Oh wow, this is normally me tbh.

I was thinking of perhaps just having something completely none related to a roast dinner, like a pasta dish or risotto.

If you're just eating with close family then go for it.

But if you're eating with a load of people it'll get annoying being asked by EVERYONE why you're a vegetarian and being told your views are pointless.

Are you not meant to eat a nut roast

My family is rather small, like literally it's my mum and nan and that's it.

So yeah they wouldn't care, they never really have the traditional meal either, this year there having beef wellington.

We've never had Turkey.

Has that happened to you before with getting asked about your views at a meal?

Oh that'll be grand then.

I like the idea of not being traditional.

Not at Christmas no but at family meals. This was when I was younger though and would always result in me getting told off for being rude or cheeky to the adults who were asking me.

Make a room for me too :joker:

We don't have a Christmas meal but my mom makes a divine vegan sweet potatoes and rice casserole. Give me this with green peas and baked cauliflower, potatoes and I'm one happy chap.

Yeah it should be!

Lool that's not really fair on you, people should just leave people alone, not like being a vegetarian is harming anything.

:amazed: @ this thread.

I'll be having mushroom, brie and cranberry wellington, they're delicious

Then I'll have stuffing and Yorkshire puddings with it (I don't really do vegetables tbh).

When I was a vegetarian I had a cheese and tomato pizza from an Indian takeaway and chips one year haha then the next year I was vegan and had nut roast

armand.kay 16-12-2016 10:53 PM

I'm helping my mum with Christmas dinner this year so I can make some vegan stuff for me... potentially making a wild mushroom Wellington or a vegan mince and ale pie.

I'm pushing the boat out and having actual animal corpse. It's Christmas after all!
