Game of Thrones or The Walking Dead?

It pains me to say this but i'm almost halfway through GoT season 4 and it's safe to say that it's the superior show. :(

Babayaro. 05-01-2017 01:23 PM

Inb4 Lostie says Westworld

Niamh. 05-01-2017 01:23 PM

My daughter asked me this very question yesterday  I went with Game of Thrones. As much as i love TWD, GOTs is just the better story with better characters and much more intriguing

Nicky91 05-01-2017 01:25 PM

i love both shows, i am a fan of The Walking dead but Game of Thrones is also a great show :D

IMO they're too different to really compare. I'd probably have given the edge to GoT if you'd asked me two years ago, on account of having fewer "filler" episodes, but then they pretty much had an entire season of it. Most of season 5 and the first half of season 6 of GoT were really poor compared to what came before... thankfully, it was back on form in the second half of season 6 (with the final few episodes being some of the show's best, imo).

Game of thrones and it's not even close

Yeah but this season of TWD has been worse a part from 1 or 2 episodes.

I love both but The Walking Dead

Tbh i'm kind of being bias rn lol, as i've been binge watching GoT for the past few weeks whilst i've watched TWD in the usual way (1 episode per week). Plus TWD has been off our screens for a few weeks now.

Shaun 05-01-2017 02:33 PM

Isn't it widely accepted that TWD is a glorified soap opera? Every critic seems to hate having to keep up with it.

Brother Leon 05-01-2017 03:36 PM

GoT. But TWD telltale game is better than both.

Glenn. 05-01-2017 03:38 PM

Game of Thrones because it's a decent story that isn't repeated every season

Smithy 05-01-2017 04:37 PM

GoT undoubtedly, the first 3 series of TWD were great but it's just gone downhill since then with the occasional really good episode

Crimson Dynamo 05-01-2017 04:44 PM

i dont watch either but GOT has much more filth and there is that epic scene where you see the red queens norks and frankly they were outstanding

Walking Dead has bored me - like others say it runs off two or three good episodes a season and 10 mediocre/boring episodes

user104658 05-01-2017 05:47 PM

I would say it's also worth bearing in mind that the budget for TWD is 3 million dollars per episode, whereas GoT has a minimum budget of 6 or 7 million per episode, rising to 10 million or more for the big episodes (like Battle of the Bastards last season).

Another reason you can't make a direct comparison really! TWD in my opinion would be a better show, both in terms of pacing and production, if it was 10 episodes per season with a a 5mil budget per episode rather than 16 episodes at 3mil.

One of the reasons that the final two GoT season are going to be even shorter is because they'll have the same season budget, so can spend even more per episode.

Game of Thrones is so much better, I'm about ready to give up on TWD.

Daniel. 27-01-2017 05:05 PM

Dont watcg The Walking Dead and GOT is greatest show om planet SO

Tom4784 27-01-2017 05:15 PM

The Walking Dead is trash and has been trash since the third season. It's as tired and dead as the zombies it features and the writers are one trick ponies that attempt to cover up their non-existent plots and paper thin characters with 'shock' deaths to keep the viewer's attention.

Even at it's worst (Hello Season 5) Game of Thrones was still better than TWD in it's prime.

I have to disagree about S5 Got being better than... Anything. I found it really hard going, it nearly ruined the entire experience for me if I'm honest, mainly just because of how badly it fit with the rest of the show. It was (and I believe they admit) treading water for a season and I think it's off-puttingly obvious... It's like they said to the actors "Hey guys... We don't actually have any story content for this season... We've mostly caught up with the books and we haven't decided yet whether or not we're going to forge on ahead of them... But we can't go off air for a year so basically everyone just come on in anyway and we'll do some in-character improv".

Each episode was making me lose a little more hope. To be honest I feel like the first half of S6 suffered too. Thankfully I am now faithful again as the second half was excellent, and it seems like they have a very clear and focused road map for finishing the series now.

What it does sadly mean for the legacy of the show is that there's a "blip" in the quality of what could otherwise have been a more or less perfect TV series.
