How to screw the producers up
We all know that they are paranoid about viewing figures. These figures are collated by people actually tuning in and watching the programme when it airs based on signal parameters. If you record the programme whilst watching something else, it does not recognise that viewer as a statistic, so what we should all do is record and watch it later and if you cant wait, stick it on record and after 3 or 4 mins go into your record programmes section and watch it as its being recorded.
This way we get to watch but the stats are kept low so the shows owners can give the prods grief yet we still get our own way and see what we want. Its also good to record and watch so you can skip over things like when Spencer is speaking or Jedwards aimless mirror posing. |
viewing figures down by 10, ****! heads are going to roll at BBHQ

That's not how TV ratings work... they have software installed in 5000 or so households and use the data from those households work out an "average" in order to put together the viewing figures. If you are not in one of those 5000 households, whether you tune in or not makes zero difference to the viewing figures.
It is impossible to "detect" how many people are tuned into an over-the-air signal like Sky or FreeView, let alone to determine whether or not the signal is being recorded or watched live. |

Sorry to burst your bubble but unless you have a barb box thing, you don't count in the viewing figures anyway
