Doubt it, we need space to put the house, thats the problem.

I believe the solution is a new wave of garden cities encroaching in on green belt.

I do believe the prefabs are the way forward but they don't come without problems.

The disadvantage of not owning the land your house resides on means it is not deemed to be your property in the full sense of the law therefore only has a right of tenure under the 1983 Mobile Homes Act. If you come to sell the property you could find the site owner vetoing over who the home is sold on to and can they afford the often expensive pitch fee. The site owner is also allowed by law to charge the seller 10% of the house sale.

There are a lot of disputes going on between site owners and park home owners. At the moment, it seems that the land owner has all the clout. Laws need implementing to give the home owner more protection.

"I do believe the prefabs are the way forward but they don't come without problems. "

Sure DR,
but these are New 2017 Built Prefabs.

Old Prefabs are Still going
Long after they were meant to be GONE

So any Problems like "you" claim
are Feck All.
Once Massive Production
As for old Laws
they can be CHANGED
FAST - as Everyone says
Housing is needed.

£150k for a 3 bed prefab is still ****ing obscene.

Yes I understand, but it is whether the developers will actually deliver the vision or do a half arsed attempt and create a new set of ghettos

Section 106 and all that.

For goodness sake Arista, do you actually want a debate about the pros and cons or do you just want us all to say, "yes great idea" without looking at the drawbacks of owning a new or a used site home?

Parc homes tend to loose value and so the sort of people who buy parc homes are the retired who need to release some equity. I would always advise bricks and mortar if this is 1) your first home or 2) you want an investment.

Where is this link with these 3 storey prehab properties? and why are they only for the homeless?

You would buy ten of them. So you're now telling us your a millionaire :conf:

How the hell can we debate a topic when we have nothing to go on?

arista 15-01-2017 10:28 AM

[For goodness sake Arista, do you actually want a debate about the pros and cons or do you just want us all to say, "yes great idea" ]

Of Course DR
thank you for your comments

arista 15-01-2017 10:29 AM

"You would buy ten of them. So you're now telling us your a millionaire"

No DR
I would buy Ten of them
if it was Legal.
Using Other Money
Not my own.

DemolitionRed 15-01-2017 10:36 AM

Here is a link http://www.express.co.uk/life-style/...-housing-plans but nowhere does it say these are for the homeless.

DemolitionRed 15-01-2017 10:38 AM

and here is another link called, "Tiny Homes for the Homeless"
https://www.charterforcompassion.org...ion-catches-on

arista 15-01-2017 10:42 AM

"would always advise bricks and mortar"

Yes DR - So would I.

But we are in a housing Crisis,
3 Storey High New 2017 Prefabs
are our Answer,

Except that I could buy an actual 3-bed house made out of real life bricks for £40k less...

Arista you can buy me a 150k property if it makes you feel better. Not fussy on the area but I need at least 2 bedrooms.
