GMBHD itv : Dress Code Discrimination : Nicola Thorpe Won Her Case

She was on GMBHD itv
As a Manager
I back her 100%

Was on at 6:09AM and
Live Debate with Nicola 7:40AM etc,

Her Boss Told her she must have on High Heals
she ignored him.
He SACKED HER

She then went to Court
Got Big Cash payed to her.
not sure if that Boss is still at that PWC company?

Nicola said you must
look smart - that is what matters

Look Smart and Clean
whatever sex you are.............

Niamh. 25-01-2017 09:13 AM

That's great news, i think I heard something about this on the radio this morning Arista. Heels are extremely uncomfortable, I barely wear them when I go out never mind 8 hours a day at work. You can look smart without wearing heels.

It is very good news, men have got away with this nonsence for far too long. Good on her!

Crimson Dynamo 25-01-2017 11:12 AM

the big mistake they made was sacking her for that reason, they should have sacked her for some other thing and got in lassie who would look the part

Lesson learned for big companies I think

Crimson Dynamo 25-01-2017 11:14 AM

Piers takes her to task here and look at the awful shoes she is wearing in the cut scene

Niamh. 25-01-2017 11:19 AM

If they tried that it would likely have been challenged in Court and won. That sort of sexism has to be quashed.

Unless they want to make men wear heels as part of their uniform too :hee:

Maybe this should be insisted upon - likely to see a drastic turnaround from the old chavvy chauvinists then. :hee:

Good luck with her getting another job, I would not hire her

Not because of what she is, I am not a sexist, but because she may get pregnant and take time off.

Yes she will as she is clearly intelligent and presentable. Undoubtedly she will be more picky about the type of sexist companies she works for in the future.

Men can bluster all they like but that out-dated sexist view belongs in a museum and women are less and less inclined to put up with it. They control their own destiny at the end of the day, not men.

Northern Monkey 25-01-2017 11:39 AM

It's good that she won.I'm all for uniforms but nobody male or female should be forced to wear uncomfortable uniform which could cause them physical pain.

Maybe the manager should be better at his/her job and come up with some innovative sales ideas rather than resorting to blatant sexism and abusing their power as employers. Bad managers should be replaced.

Sexism is everywhere, i agree

Tom4784 25-01-2017 12:16 PM

Most meninists either have mommy issues, relationship issues (more specifically, the lack thereof) or both. I wonder which camp Piers Morgan falls into.

Livia 25-01-2017 12:17 PM

I wear heals all the time. If someone told me I had to wear them for work... I'd probably turn up in flats. Good that she won her case.
