Kenya : Anarchy (Warning disturbing news/text link)

[Sam Kiley, Foreign Affairs Editor

Armed with automatic rifles,
and somehow supplied with
bullets from government
armouries, nomadic moran (warriors),
have been shooting elephants,
gunning down giraffes,
and sending tens of thousands
of their cattle to lay waste
to Kenya's second most
important wildlife area.
Kenyans are short of land.
Perhaps it would be better
to let the indigenous tribes
take over the vast rangelands?
Kenya is a democracy. It has
elections in August and if
there ever was a case of
populism the land invasions
of Laikipia are it. Many Samburu
and Pokot people will vote for the
MPs they "credit" with inspiring
the invasions.]

So what?

[Why should we care about
elephants being left to
rot (often with their ivory intact)
or the foetus of a giraffe
being torn from its mother's dead womb?

Such horrors, sometimes
much worse, are and have
been inflicted on our own species.
In Iraq and Syria the death cult that
calls itself the Islamic State
has forced children to become
murderers and suicide bombers.
Men woman and children have
been raped, mutilated
and killed - often with the
added indignity of being
filmed while suffering.]

Because people with real empathy aren't selective about tragedies going on around the world?

So the indigenous people of Kenya want to have more of their land instead of
the small portion they have been allocated?

Yes Kizzy
But do not Murder a Elephant and other animals
as that brings in Tourism
that the EVIL MACHINE GUN PUNK
needs as that funds the country.

They are using Government Weapons?
If Kenya NO LONGER
wants Billions of Cash in Tourism
they must stop it

Give those Stupid Punks
the hotels to live in
OK kizzy

It reminds me of Zimbabwe. Mugabe oversaw the dismantling of white farms with extreme violence. Those farms grew food and employed people and now they're laying waste and the country is starving. But hey, he still got a state visit with no one starting a petition or marching through the capital.
