Louis Theroux - The most hated in America.
This Sunday - 01/04/07 - BBC2 at 21.00.
Description of the progeamme: "Louis struggles to come to terms with the infamous family who picket the funereals of soldiers, in protest against an America that tolerates homosexuality". Anybody gonna watch it? Sounds quite fascinating, if not confusing. |
I absolutly love Louis Theroux..... thinking womans crumpet
I think I've seen a woman from that family interviewed on American shows, if it was the same family. She was quite a scary person, and her views also.
There are clips on Youtube. |
Well I shall be tunning in. I think his last series where he went into middle America was so insightful. How the hell he managed to get into the circles he did is beond me. He is a very talented and brave journalist
I too do find his programmes very insightful into the taboos of todays society. Especially in some of the "backward" parts of middle and deep south America. Actually, did anyone see the "Top Gear" programme where they put slogans on their cars and travelled through "redneck America". That was quite scary.
I thnk the person in question is Fred Phelps, leader of the Westboro Baptist Church.
And yes, Mr Phelps and his followers are absolute ******* nutcases |
Phelps and his cronies make me feel sick.they incite hate and violence
They were on Tyra banks once and Tyra really laid into them. there sickining and the best was to get rid of them is too ignore them.i wont be watching.they have too much publicity as it is. |
I have never heard of the Phelp's but I'm just reading all about them. They truely disgust me!
Louie is a genius. The way he acts so innocent and bewildered but leads them to bury themselves. I can't wait for this program.
Thanks for the article Mark. Interesting reading.

Quote:
His Weird Weekends series was amazing, plus his When Loius Met.... was pure genius. How the hell did he manage to be interviewing the Hamiltons at the time of their infamous scandel broke I will never know |
Pure luck I suppose. But good god, what luck.
It'll be an interesting watch.
Bigots are best shown for what they are by what comes out of their own mouths and the deeds they do. Slightly related : if you get the chance, check out a documentary feature film called "Jesus Camp" - quite possibly the scariest film ever made |
Did anybody watch it?
Sorry missed it. Playing Vice City Stories instead.
These people were crazy. They brainwashed their kids. Took them on protests where they could have been in danger. They left the women to do most of the protest work though. Nice of them.
Yeah I watched it. The scariest and saddest bit I thought was when Louis questioned the family's children at the demonstrations and they clearly had no idea what they were demonstrating about.
^^That's the moral majority for you^^
No, the younger ones didn't did they. I thought that placard about Princess Diana was disgusting. The one that said "Royal In Hell *****”.
What was Louis like. Fumbling as ever.
I think that's part of his "act". He doesn't judge, but questions things. He doesn't create any anymosity. People trust him. He lets the viewer make up their own mind.
I watched it, i coukldnt believe how horrible the family were going to the soldiers funerals and having a big banner saying Princess Diana is going to hell. Hope they all rot in hell!
Here is an idea of what they are about for people who don't know...........
