Five key members of hate preacher Anjem Choudary's inner circle have been jailed after they held meetings behind an Anglican church to recruit for ISIS.

The extremist gang incited crowds during Monday meetings in a marquee at St Margaret's Methodist Church in Luton with one speaking of '40 trucks packed with explosives driving down Oxford Street'.

At the meetings, attended by up to 80 people including young children, the group praised IS and urged people to support the terror group and travel to Syria to fight

The group were arrested after they were infiltrated by a brave undercover policeman, who lived with them and spent 20 months secretly recording their hate-filled speeches.

They were members of the banned group al-Muhajiroun once led by Anjem Choudary and Islamist firebrand Omar Bakri Muhammad.

In one rant on July 2 2015, Mohammed Choudry, 23, spoke of '40 trucks driving down Oxford Street full of explosives', the Old Bailey was told.

I think most left wing people condemn these people, its just right wingers struggle to poke holes in our arguments so they focus on what we didn't say (because it doesnt exactly need saying)

Total bull. Just more name-calling in an attempt to close down any understandable questioning of mass immigration and the effects on the Western world.

We are all accountable for our actions or inactions including Muslims. If one group fail to act on the behaviours of Muslim members of their community acting against the interests of their host country then the community of those non-Muslims that behave in a similar vein in response to this inaction are held accountable instead. :shrug:

The former inaction is largely responsible for the reaction of the latter that respond in the same way.

Would pretty much of been my answer. Don't confuse a lack of foot stomping and jaw gnashing for not condemning hate preachers, Livia... As chewy says, most people of course do condemn them, but it should go without saying.

Its also not an excuse for ignoring every other related problem (for example, most importantly, an examination of the issues that lead to hate preachers existing in the first place).

But these people are a poor oppressed minority group.They know not what they do.All this oppression has affected their brains.It's not their fault.They must be wrapped up in warm cotton blankets and protected from all this oppression.

Precisely, it almost goes without saying that they should be condemned, but a discussion can stretch beyond "I condemn them" without people being jumped on for not outright stating it. It wouldn't be a thread worth reading if that's all it was made up of.
It happens a lot on here that people are accused of not caring about certain issues when there hasn't even been a post from anyone that indicates that.
