Inside No. 9 (BBC2, Tuesday's, 10pm)

Braden 21-02-2017 05:12 PM

I thought I'd create a thread for the new series of Inside No. 9 that starts tonight.

I'm not sure if there are people on this site who watch it, but I think it's fanastic. One of my favourite programmes.

Shaun 21-02-2017 05:12 PM

I'll iPlayer it, didn't see any other series before though :worry: hadn't heard of it

Braden 21-02-2017 05:16 PM

You should definitely try and watch series 1 and 2 if you enjoy tonight's episode, Shaun. That's if you have the time :p

I hadn't heard of it either, until it S2 started. I binged the first season and loved it.

Braden 21-02-2017 09:02 PM

Starting now.

Braden 21-02-2017 09:50 PM

That was a really good episode.

The momentum grows and then the twist is like a quick stab to the throat.

Braden 24-03-2017 02:54 PM

Okay, so no one on here has taste :worry: The whole season was fantastic, and I'm going to rank the episodes for my own amusement.

The Bill
Empty Orchestra
Private View
The Riddle of the Sphinx
Diddle Diddle Dumpling

The Devil of Christmas

Niamh. 24-03-2017 02:55 PM

What's it about?

It's a dark comedy anthology series created by Reece Shearsmith and Steve Pemberton (League of Gentlemen), and it's fantastic

If you have a spare half hour then I'd recommend any episode from this series. If you like one of them, you'll probably like all of them. The writing is incredibly clever.

I just googled it and I'm none the wiser  Someone likened it to tales of the Unexpected though which i liked

Yeah, I hadn't heard of it but my Mum and Dad were watching an episode from the second series and I was compelled. Literally binged the two seasons within, like, three days.

Ooh, I haven't heard of that, I might check it out. A lot of people compare it to Black Mirror, I know Reece Shearsmith gets annoyed by that though :p

I'll give it a go over the weekend and report back

I recommend The Bill, if it's still on iPlayer. My favourite of all three series

Are they all stand alone episodes?

Yeah, completely different settings and characters. Shearsmith and Pemberton always star in each episode, and there are various guest stars throughout :)

Alf 24-03-2017 04:46 PM

I need to watch these.

I have seen one or two episodes. One set on a train, with Hayley (Harold) from Coronation street.

MB. 24-03-2017 04:52 PM

I saw this week's episode (the one with fierce g.oddess Felicity Kendal) and enjoyed it, if that helps

That happened to be the first one I watched too! I liked the twist at the end.

I really liked this week's episode. The cast was strong, I loved Felicity, Fiona and Morgana, and murder-mystery is right up my street.

I watched half of the very first episode and I gave up, sorry Braden, it was awful

Oh no!

Which episode was it? The very first, or the first episode of the recent series?

Aw, I really liked that one :p

I think Inside No. 9 is one of those shows that has a better effect on you once you've watched it in its entirety. Like, some of the episodes are hard to follow, but it all comes together and makes sense at the end, if you get me?

I remember thinking 'wtf is this?' when I first watched it, but thought the ending was superb. You'll know if it's your cup of tea once you've watched the ending
