M&S vs. Waitrose! Which one do you prefer?

Poll incoming.

M&S by default, we don't have a Waitrose nearby. I've only been to Waitrose about three times in my life.

Crimson Dynamo 28-02-2017 02:33 PM

I avoid both as they are overpriced. Wasting money on food is not my thang.

I agree with this though, it's so overpriced. I never shop there, would only go for one or two things.

I've never been to Waitrose so will have to go with M&S!

M&S do some really nice bits, not like everyday shopping items but like if you wanted something special for a meal.

I agree on prices, Waitrose seems to be so expensive.

Waitrose is basically like John Lewis as a supermarket, well that's what it reminds me of.

Livia 28-02-2017 02:39 PM

I don't have an M&S locally, so I'm going to say Waitrose. But the only time I go there is if I want a lovely birthday cake or something really special for dinner... and naturally have a good old whinge about what a rip-off it is.

Will. 28-02-2017 02:41 PM

M&S have the best ready meals I think, and they do like 3 for £6 or something which isn't so bad.

I've only really tried the pasta ones though.

I love the snacks you can buy at M&S. I treated myself to a nice shop when I came back to university earlier this month, and always tend to go for the triple chocolate crunch cereal (among other things, but that cereal is literally heavenly).

Waitrose do 3 frozen meals for £4, which is quite good for a student. The quality is alright too, and still better than some meals you buy at ASDA or Tesco.

Withano 28-02-2017 03:35 PM

Both grim

MTVN 28-02-2017 03:48 PM

Waitrose has plenty of affordable stuff as well as its pricier range and they don't rely on their own brand goods as much as M&S. Better shopping experience as well, can't get a free coffee and newspaper from M&S :idc:

I like M& S food, I wouldn't do a weekly shop in there though
