UKs youngest mother...

http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk...-a7634511.html

11 ****ing years old. This is a disgrace. Where were the adults safeguarding her? Even if the father is around the same age (papers says 'a few years' older) this is still down to the ****ing adults. How can an 11 year old be fit to deal with the responsibilities being a parent brings..I struggled at 25 :/

How on earth is this happening in our country today? So sad...

Poor kids.
Hard enough being a parent when you are older, never mind losing out on your childhood.
I don't think parents can know what their kids are up to all the time, unless you keep them in under lock and key or make sure you are with them at all times when they are out. Difficult if they are aged 11.

13/14 I would agree with this. But at 11? I am pretty sure I will know what shes doing at that age..unless she is at school. And if this happened at school that makes it even bloody worse...

Also, surely the adults would have been able to tell she was pregnant long before it got to the giving birth stage.

This kid was raped tbh. 'A few years older' so like 14/15. What older teenage boy shags a 11 year old. Disgusting twat.

If your kid wants to go to the park with their friends at 11 most parents would assume that's what they would do and be happy to let them go.
I doubt many parents would ever dream their 11 year old child was going to be sexually active at that age.
I would hope most parents would notice a change in their daughters body if she were pregnant, perhaps some changes could be put down to puberty, developing breasts etc.
I have no idea on the legal or moral issues with allowing/forcing a child to terminate a pregnancy. Total nightmare.

My guess is the parent/s were at work. Kids are expected to take themselves to/from high school at 11 I've always felt this is what is the cause of them maturing faster, just being in that environment. I'm a fan of the middle school system, imo it keeps you younger longer.

poor girl :(

Yup...so the lad knew he was ****ing a child :umm2:

Honestly, what sort of 14/15 year old lad would want to sleep with a child. And because of his age, nowt will happen. Disgusting.

Why is she going through with the pregnancy at that age?

jaxie 17-03-2017 12:35 PM

There was a girl in our area when I was a kid who I knew a little who had a baby at 12. It came out later that her father had done time for child abuse, I don't whether that was his kids or others but I do know he touched his daughters friends as one told me. It wasn't his baby but yeah, that's where the parents were. Mum was still with him when he came out.

It always seemed ironic to me that the boy who was the baby's father, who wasn't many years older than the girl was kept away and wasn't allowed legally within a distance of her and yet she lived in the household with her father.

kids interested in sex at this age are usually abused at home. this boy should be prosecuted though

That was my thought, not fair on mother or baby.

Unless it was too late when they found out maybe? What a horrific thing for a little girl to go through

A girl at my school got pregnant at 12, gave birth at 13. The dad was 19 . Horrifying. She physically looked more like 15 at the time and I'm not sure if the guy knew just how young she was, but still. Mess.

Jesus that's terrible. Even if he thought she was 15 she was still underage then. Did he get prosecuted? Again you'd wonder why she went through with the pregnancy at that age

From what I can remember he ended up locked up, but for unrelated things. Dodgy character in general.

It is a bit odd that she went through with her but - odd as it is for me to say it - it sort of was the making of her. She was obviously massively off the rails, struggling with school, pretty much certainly on the "junkie path". She was forced to leave school (for "insurance reasons"... Hmmm) but I randomly saw her with her son in town when I was about 20 and she looked like totally normal, well dressed, same for her son, who was also quite well spoken. Who knows what happened there! Though I think she was actually from a very middle class family and it may have been a genuine "bad crowd" situation, and getting pregnant and kicked out of school ironically was what got her away from that life.

user104658 17-03-2017 01:51 PM

Was very strange seeing them though, as anyone would assume they were brother and sister.

Well I'm glad it worked out for her and her son too

user104658 17-03-2017 01:59 PM

I also recently... Briefly... Had a 21 year old cashier with an 8 year old son . She was basically awful, though.

There was a girl at my school forced into an abortion at 13/14, she threw herself under a train in her 20s.

Ih God, I wasnt suggesting anyone would be forced into it

jennyjuniper 17-03-2017 04:29 PM

This child must have started menustrating and the mother must have been aware of that? Once a girl starts menustration it's time to sit thenm down and prepare them for the fact that even if you think they are not sexually active, pregnancy can occur if they have sex and don't take precautions.
Having said that, a lot of parents don't believe or don't want to believe that a child as young as 11 will be sexually active.

Well the vast majority of 11 year olds wont be sexually active at that age tbf but you dont know that she didnt either, if all it took was a talk to stop kids having sex there would be alot less teenage pregnancies [emoji23]

But I did read a worrying statistic that over 90% of 11 year olds are sexually active by the age of 25 :worry:.
