Thoughts on launch

This probably doesn't warrant it's own thread, but I thought i'd give my opinions on the cast and how the launch went, and that it would be interesting since this is the first time i've ever watched BBCAN.

Firstly, I really like how there was no messing about and it was just the case of the houseguests entering, and there was still time for the HoH comp at the end. The houseguests entering in fours was a nice touch too, and it would be cool if BBUK did this.

Arisa was a bit annoying at times, almost overenthusiastic. She does remind me of Davina, however, as it's clear she's really passionate about the show, so i'm sure over time i'll grow to really like her.

The house is impressive, and it puts our current version to shame, as you can clearly see how much effort has been put into it. It is a little too big for my liking though, and I much prefer the Channel 4 ones as they actually looked liked a house and not a studio.

Houseguest rankings:

1. Emily
2. Sindy
3. Gary
4. Dallas
5. Karen
6. Demetres
7. Neda
8. William
9. Dre
10. Dillon
11. Ika
12. Jackie
13. Kevin
14. Cassandra
15. Mark
16. Bruno

Welcome to the family :cheer2: (for now at least...let's see if you stick with us)

Will. 17-03-2017 02:28 PM

yeah it was good!

Marsh. 17-03-2017 03:15 PM

Omg, should I start watching too? :worry:

Marsh. 17-03-2017 03:15 PM

How many episodes are in a season?

Firewire 17-03-2017 03:15 PM

There was 32 last season I think (3 per week)

Yes, and then you can see that it really is the best version :hee:

And yeah, 32 episodes last season, 29 for the rest. Watching/rewatching BBUS/Can is easy

They can vote strategically using points tbf and the public seem better than the uk.. like Tahan topped the vote by a mile over 5 white straight males..when will that happen in the uk?

Jack_ 17-03-2017 03:44 PM

I prefer the US format so I'm always going to be biased, but from what I've seen BBAU is also better than BBUK so

Arisa's one of my favourite things about the show :flutter: I can see how she'd come across as a bit annoying at first but you'll grow to love her.

Jack_ 17-03-2017 04:11 PM

The best thing about Arisa is her Twitter and interaction with fans

Still far superior to BBUS.

Have you seen peak BBUS? I doubt it could compare to the likes of BB2 and 6 tbh

I've known her from the start of this and I don't think I'll ever like her. She just tries too hard, just like the last Australian version presenter. They need a Chenbot.

The problem with the Canadian version is it can often be seen as just copying the US one, such as the fake whooping and hollering of HGs when there's an announcement. The mix of vets and newbies is something the US version has done before, and it tends to not work that well, as the newbies are normally very weak. This style of BB isn't exactly known for great gameplay and BBCAN is worse than the US one in that and it's likely these newbies will be crushed.

Cassandra too low!
