Does money buy happiness?

Yes, probably!

Discuss.

Wizard. 19-03-2017 04:30 PM

No, but it'll buy me loads of nice things and enough botox to make me look happy!

Niamh. 19-03-2017 04:30 PM

I don't think it's a yes or no answer, if you're lonely and unhappy I don't think money could make that better but if you're already happy with life money could make you happier by taking some pressure off and allowing you to spend time doing stuff you really enjoy

LukeB 19-03-2017 04:34 PM

I don't really know because having money can take the stress off from people because of bills and all that stuff but then you have people changing around you. It's a yes and no answer really.

Alf 19-03-2017 04:36 PM

Depends how much.

If you had too much, would you still have any ambitions or dreams?

Del Boy didn't take to it.

Withano 19-03-2017 04:37 PM

Not directly, but it can buy you things that will make you happy

Glenn. 19-03-2017 05:02 PM

Yes of course it would.

Jordan. 19-03-2017 05:27 PM

To a point

Ashley. 19-03-2017 05:30 PM

No.

smudgie 19-03-2017 07:04 PM

No.
Love of life brings you happiness, money pays the bills.

I suppose it depends.

Money doesn't make me happy, I don't spend a lot even though I'm earning. I'm happy enough with the things I have.

Ask me in a few years.

Greg! 19-03-2017 09:03 PM

It would make me a lot happier that's for sure lmao. Can't speak for everyone though.

Epic. 19-03-2017 09:12 PM

Obviously yes

jennyjuniper 19-03-2017 09:13 PM

Not really, although you could be miserable in comfort and ease.

Millionairs kill themselves so its not a guarantee of happiness, it depends more on the person and how they are in their mind and body.

Nicky91 20-03-2017 09:22 AM

no, Georgina and Maan are a big example of that money doesn't buy happiness

user104658 20-03-2017 09:26 AM

If you are miserable for personal or existential reasons then no amount of money will make you any happier... so I would say no.

However, on the flip-side, not having enough money to be comfortable can certainly make you depressed, stressed and unhappy. Debts, bills, not being sure how you'll survive month to month. Working long hours in a job that you dislike will obviously wreck your happiness, too. So in those situations, yes, money could take that stress away and allow you to spend more of your time with people you actually like doing things you actually enjoy, and so you would be happier.

TomC 20-03-2017 10:29 AM

Depends what makes you happy.

Smithy 20-03-2017 10:38 AM

Yes

People that say no aren't spending it right

Livia 20-03-2017 11:32 AM

Health means happiness. Family, love, security... it's nice to have money but if you don't it doesn't mean you can't be happy.

waterhog 21-03-2017 08:55 PM

spot on livia

Deirdre 21-03-2017 09:08 PM

speaking from experience, no.

Jake. 21-03-2017 09:17 PM

yeah but it's all about how you deal with money

if you come into a sudden fortune and the next day you're acting like a dick, you're going to become lonely very quickly
