Ignoring your boss

SO BASICALLY I wasn't scheduled to work tonight but my boss text me and asked me if I could work but I really don't want to and now she's ringing me but I'm ignoring her calls so what would you do?

Can you ignore your boss?http://cdn.thisisbigbrother.com/cust...r91218_177.gif

Ignore her and then when you see her tell her your phone was in getting repaired if she mentions it.

Ive just had 3 full days of arguing with one of my bosses before they finally caved in and authorised the holidays I wanted.

Bosses are such ***** at times tbh

slacker.

Cherie 29-03-2017 01:46 PM

I will be the angel on your shoulder, don't ignore her as she will be more likely to treat you well if you respond, just say its too short notice or you have a family birthday or something that you can't get out of. Not being able to get in touch with you will probably piss her off and if you want a favour in the future she will remember this...I would.:hee:

disclaimer ...I am not saying Josy isn't treating her boss well :hehe:

Niamh. 29-03-2017 01:47 PM

I probably would have replied to the text and said that I couldn't because I had already made plans for my day off

Cherie 29-03-2017 01:47 PM

In other news I have just had a call from my school to say it is closed until after the Easter holidays due to the norovirus, too many staff off...so no work for me tomorrow or Friday..:amazed: I had swopped my days as well so someone worked my Monday and I was doing their day tomorrow..

They treat me well when I'm not asking for holidays, tbh its because they know I do most of the work so when I take time off they panic :hee:

Cal. 29-03-2017 01:49 PM

I'm going to just go in on my next day (Sunday) and tell her I cracked my phone screen so it's been in repair!

They should reward you for that, not penalise you horrible feckers.

wrong! just ring her or if you can't face ringing text her and say you can't as you have plans.

Tom4784 29-03-2017 01:51 PM

You'd be better off just telling her you can't because you have plans because I've been in her position and it's always easy to tell when someone's ignoring your calls and it's very annoying. It's much better respond and say no then it is to leave someone pissing in the wind.

Exactly, It drives me crazy when people don't reply to a question or ignore calls. She's so going to know you're lying about your phone too Cal

Yeah I agree with this. I don't think there's anything wrong with ignoring her, if you don't do a job where you have to be contactable outside of hours then it's perfectly reasonable to ignore her and technically she can't have a problem with that or do anything about it, but like Cherie said it could benefit you to respond because she'd probably think better of you for it so it might be better for your relationship.

Her baby is really ill it turns out and needs to go to the out of hours doctors tonight so I've had a change of opinion and decided to go in!

This bitch does have a heart underneath her cold exterior!http://cdn.thisisbigbrother.com/cust...r91218_177.gif

awwww what a hero Cal

Jamie89 29-03-2017 01:56 PM

And if you're going to be lying to her anyway, the making plans up now lie is much easier than the phone excuse when you see her next lie

Cal. 29-03-2017 01:57 PM

I just had a mini row with one of my colleagues too cos she was right short with me on the phone stupid bitch!

Could backfire as well if you keep ignoring her, she may stop asking and there might come a time when you need the over time

Jamie89 29-03-2017 01:58 PM

Oh never mind [emoji23] good for you!

Cal. 29-03-2017 01:59 PM

AND another colleague is being really blunt with me over message I swear to GOD

Cal. 29-03-2017 02:00 PM

Why is everyone in the working world such a bastard?

Cherie 29-03-2017 02:00 PM

aw Cal, you are doing the right thing, she literally owes you one now so if you need time off in a hurry you can remind her of when you stepped in and helped her out.

Cal. 29-03-2017 02:02 PM

Good point!

Her husband whose really sexy called me a star on the phone so maybe I'll get good karma from this and embark on a steamy affair with him!
