Eeewwww have energy prices gone up a chunk in the last 2 years?

Just got a letter saying my 2 year fixed plan ends next month and "do I want to fix again"... but Electricity has gone from 11.2p / unt to nearly 14p / unit and gas from 2.5p to 3.1p... total yearly increase of £220 "projected". Wtf is that! I'm just becoming a hermit. Who needs gas & leccy anyway :bawling:.

Companies have put us their tariffs by between 5 and 8 per cent, EDF recently put a whopping 8 per cent on electricity. Money supermarket are doing one of their deals but you have to be signed up to the site by next Monday, also Avro Energy, I have one year deal with them at the moment with no exit penalties, its pointless going to your current supplier as I tried this when my fix ended and they didn't want to know about the better deals I could get, although they were cheap when I fixed with them..First Utility

Utility Warehouse. That's where I get my phone and energy. Can't find anywhere cheaper.

A projected £220 increase is like 15%, I paid £1500 this year. Which to be fair, is sort of high anyway. Old boiler and an absolute ****tonne of tech :joker:. But still... 15% in 2 years? :umm2:

:suspect: is this because of the weak pound? Is this all Brexit's fault again?

:suspect: :suspect: OR is it WOMEN using HAIRDRYERS and curlers and washing machines and vibrators and whatnot and driving up demand for electricity country wide. I bet it is. Where's Truth. He'll know.

Glad to see I'm not the only one who pays that much for energy, we are always dubbed "high users" when I do comparisons :joker: I blame my boys and their tech toys :fist:
