Just realised it is the Queens birthday today.
Haven't seen it on the news or online today.
Happy 91st to her and here's hoping for many more.

the 2nd May bank holiday is for the Queens Birthday as she has two birthdays.

Pretty sure may day has some other significance, but cannot be bothered to look it up.

Not May day, the bank holiday on 25th May or thereabouts.

Early Spring May holiday is the old May Day.
The later May bank holiday used to be Whitsun.
Whit used to be movable as it was to do with Pentecost, 50 days after Easter.
It now has a fixed date and is called the later Spring bank holiday.
