Yes actually, Mary Phagan. Her murder led to a lynching and reinvigorated the KKK (:conf2:), look up "Knights of Mary Phagan"... there is at least one movie about it and there's some historical significance there tying into American history.
I don't remember exactly how exactly we were connected. Our family is out of the same area, but probably a distant cousin at best.

This isn't a family celebrity exactly, but one of my grandmothers used to be very good friends with the Shipleys and they started a popular donut chain in Houston that's spread out since then. She used to tell me stories of how the parents (the original owners) used to bake her donuts from their oven when she came over to play with the kids. That puts her up there on the A list for me. Shipley Donuts is simply amazing. ♪ :love: My metabolism has finally slowed though and certain types of sugar cause a burning sensation in my back, so I don't really have donuts too often anymore. Unfortunately. :(
