okay am i just being silly or

i'm catching up on BBCAN and im up to the PoV competition
did anyone else find it cruel how they put rabbits in those coffin things
and then literally THREW rats in
i just feel a bit :/ about it

DouglasS 28-04-2017 04:52 PM

There was 1 rabbit per a coffin and they were literally in there for 10 minutes and the lid was open, it wasn't exactly cruel, they had plenty of space. Exactly the same with the rats, they were in there for very little time with the lid open. God forbid you ever watch I'm a Celebrity get me out of here, where they put in about 40 rats in a closed coffin underground filled with 100,000 insects as well

you're not being silly at all but i don't think it was wrong. They were in there for a short while and the lid was open. No harm came to them so it's okay.

They do it all the time on I'm A Celebrity, and they're even worse with it as they just shove hundreds of them in a confined and dark space with other creatures. With the PoV, I didn't think it was cruel as they just tipped the lid and let them crawl out into the coffin.

okay so the rats were in the tube thing and when they were dropped they had visibly pooped and the 'angels' threw the rats in along with the feces. There was quite a lot of it too. this is what leads me to think they were kept in those tubes longer than perhaps they should've been. no need to be snarky with me and yes, i do watch IAC but I don't really agree with it when they use animals in BTTs.
:)

Rats can poop up to like 30 times a day. The animals were just gently placed into an open coffin with tonnes of room, most entered the coffin themselves from their tubes. Science is ongoing where rats/rabbits are kept in tiny cages, these rodents probably have had a holiday by being allowed to be used in this BBCAN task.

it's 10-30 pellets a day. As I said there was quite a few pellets in there so i don't think the rats were put into the tubes were done quickly before being taken out. Yes. Such a holiday for the animals being put into a tube, thrown in a coffin and then taken out. I don't agree with animal testing before you come at me with that. If you have a rat/rabbit and it's in a small cage then that's unfair on the animal.

I have pet house rabbits so maybe I'm biased for thinking they should need an excess of space as mine have the whole house, but I definitely think the rabbits shouldn't have been used in the task. Especially with Ika wriggling all over and nearly falling on hers a few times.

The rats I didn't mind being used as they appear a lot on other shows but they shouldn't have been thrown in, and it should have been a quick in and out like the bunnies.

I totally agree T*.

Animals shouldn't ever be used in TV shows, especially like this where they're being used as items of fear and stand a chance of getting seriously hurt or killed by hysterical idiots.

I'm a Celebrity is positively ****ing barbaric the way they just pour creatures in on top of each other with little to no regard for their well-being!

Talking about creatures...........Ika should have been disqualified for having most of her body outside the box when she was basically standing on the top edges of the glass box too.
If she'd fallen (which she could very easily have done) the rabbit would have been badly injured at least or probably killed.

Who cares? Animals are stupid and only good for food. Mmmm, yum.

Oop touched a rat loving nerve. :hehe:

LemonJam 01-05-2017 08:12 AM

I don't really think that at all. They're just putting them in a box with a human, not using them as a baseball.

JoshBB 01-05-2017 04:38 PM

nobody tell him about IAC

T* 01-05-2017 05:23 PM

that's already been said and it wasn't funny the first time
