Blade Runner is art. One of the best films ever. Not sure how I feel about this.

This. Surprising that, with all the issues surrounding the original, he'd go back to this project.

Yes High Art,
and made during movie strikes in LA.

And others have been trying to do a Blade Runner 2
Film, but I would prefer Ridley to make it.

Shaun this Movie is at your High Level.

Stu and I can Feel the High Art

And there is the Great Original Music score

Omah 01-06-2012 05:00 PM

Ole Ridders is past his prime - prequels and sequels may make money (or not) but, if a film is succesful, first is best (although a Director's Cut may enhance the original experience)

No he has a special control
like no other Director/Producer.

Blade Runner 2
has been wanted for years.

Give him some credit.

The title of the sequel is Blade Runner 2049.

Quote:

In exactly one year the highly-anticipated “Blade Runner” sequel will arrive in theaters. To begin the countdown, the official title for the movie has been revealed: “Blade Runner 2049.”

While plot details are being kept under wraps, the film is set in Los Angeles, several decades after the 1982 original, and stars Ryan Gosling and Harrison Ford, reprising his role as Rick Deckard.

“The climate has gone berserk — the ocean, the rain, the snow is all toxic,” director Denis Villeneuve previously told EW after sharing two spectacular-looking concept art images that depicted the dystopian city skyline.

“Blade Runner 2049” is written by Hampton Fancher and Michael Green. The sci-fi film also features a star-studded cast that includes Jared Leto, Robin Wright, Mackenzie Davis, Ana de Armas, Dave Bautista, Lennie James, and Barkhad Abdi. Jóhann Jóhannsson, a frequent collaborator with Villeneuve, has also signed on to compose the score.

A new photo of Villeneuve, Ridley Scott, Ford and Gosling on set was also revealed, which you can check out below.

“Blade Runner 2049” will be released in theaters on October 6, 2017

This could either be amazing or a complete disaster, to be honest.

I actually understand that; not because it's boring, the film is amazing, but it can be at times strangely soft and dream-like... the lighting is dark, lots of rain, etc. so it could easily make people "sleepy".

Wow, a teaser trailer has appeared. It's strange getting a continuation of this story. Didn't think it would ever happen.

There's a synopsis on the video description.

Stoked for this now. I got chills from the music.

JTM45 09-05-2017 01:57 PM

I watched that new trailer on Youtube last night. The first one showed so little it was hard to get much of an idea of what sort of job they'd done of it but this new trailer looks AMAZING!!!!!! The scale of the buildings and the city scapes looks absolutely breathtaking.

I couldn't help but be slightly concerned about the end result of a sequel as the original Blade Runner is one of my (if not my absolute) favourite film of all time but i definitely feel less worried after seeing this latest trailer.
I'm not usually much of a fan of Leto (thought his Joker was awful!!!) but he looks very promising in this.
I can't wait to go and see iton the big-screen. Might even go as far as tracking down an IMAX to watch it in (not an easy feat in Wales!). Last time i checked there was only one.

They need top leave it there with any more unseen footage or new trailers now though. I don't want to have seen half of the film before i see it in all of it's glory.
