Cadburys chocolate taste change

Cadbury's chocolate has changed.

I have eaten chocolate all my life, like many of us do every day. But, recently, Cadbury's chocolate have changed the ingrediants. Well, only a couple, but the taste is certainly different.

Much darker tasting.

But, the only real test, is to compare them.

I have and it is really a problem to me and I shall tell you the change.

I have two packets of Cadbury's Snack in front of me.

They changed the design of the packets too, but the chocolate is the real change.

All of the above information, may be hard to understand? Especially as I am talking about Shortcake as well as Chocolate.

But, the main changes are,

Skimmed milk & Butter Fat being removed.

This has really changed the taste significantly. It is now, much darker in taste and that great recipe from the past, is now no more.

I looked at the Cadbury's chocolate website and went to their site-map and eventually found the information I was looking for.

But, I sent them an e-mail, but they didn't give anything away with their reply to me. All they said, was, send the product back to them and they will give me my money back, etc.. I didn't bother, naturally..

This is what is happening to our foods and they are trying to help people's health, as "butterfats" are not good for us.

Unfortunately, as many people are suing companies, for so many things today. Cadburys must have recognised this and made this change and have sacrificed taste over health

But it is a shame, that the chocolate is different now. The taste has changed and it is darker and I have compared and it is true.

Thanks for the info.... I've always liked cadbury's chocolate but eh well. Change is change...

andybigbro 09-04-2007 04:41 PM

Cool Thanks But i Prefer Galaxy

Bells 09-04-2007 05:13 PM

Has it really changed? That's a shame, but I too prefer Galaxy luckily.
However I didn't expect the taste to change so suddenly and that, but next time I'm out buying chocolate I'll buy some Cadbury's and see the difference for myself.

Sophii3x 09-04-2007 05:23 PM

OMG is there really that many ingredients in chocolate?
And I can't even pronounce most of them!

nodisharmony 09-04-2007 05:26 PM

Yes! It has really changed.

I like Galaxy too and "Aero" is one of my favourites.

But I love Cadbury's chocolate and making the taste of it, much darker now and also, changing it in this way is unbelievable.

If anyone has a Cadbury's chocolate bar, with a sell by date of no later than 28/5/07 and you buy the exact same bar, with the new sell by date and also, it's new taste.

Taking out the Butterfat & Skimmed milk & Hydrogonated veg fat, which is not so good for us, healthwise, but makes that bar of Cadbury's chocolate so nice.

I bought some Cadbury's chocolate buttons the other day and I noticed it straight away.

All the Easter eggs by Cadbury's will be the same. I assume?

You know, when I was in England, last november, I ate some Cadbury because we haven't in France. Then between the french one and this one, no doubt, Cadbury is discusting !!! It's not real chocolate, it's so industrial, no taste, you're sick after you ate that ! So maybe I will eat some if the taste has changed.
It's so sad for you englsh people because you eat some chocolate which one you think is superb ! Come in France, you will see the difference ! (french people are better, nothing to say...)

I know there are many makes of chocolate out there and I am sure that there are many brands of chocolate in France.

In England, or should I say, "Great Britain", it is Cadbury's and Nestle that rule.

But Cadbury's has always been more darker than Nestle anyway. But, due to them taking out "three-key-ingredients", there is definately a noticable change.

It is not a drastic change, that most would really notice. But, if you a non-smoker and your taste-buds are sensitive to change in any food, then you would definately notice and I am very angry.

Why can't they leave things as they were?

It's all about, "Money", as usual...

I can only imagine that some article has appeared in a Newspaper or magazine, naming & shaming chocolate companies, who are neglecting health issues.

What about taste!!!!!!!!!

Why Change, GOD, I get mad!!

it's more traditional in France you know, it's THE chocolate country by excellence.
Great-Britain need a big lesson of "how to make good chocolate".

I hope one day, u will eat true chocolate and no more this discusting cadbury !

~Kizwiz~ 09-04-2007 06:43 PM

I agree sunshine, whenever I go an see my dad in France I always bring back tons of Milka, you cant buy it here at all and it tastes so much nicer. English chocolate is nothing compaired to other countries on the continent

Jay 09-04-2007 06:45 PM

Watch out this thread might be taking over.

nodisharmony 09-04-2007 07:02 PM

Another chocolate company, "Thorntons" is also another leader.

But Cadbury's & Nestle still are household names and a taste which we all know.

Luckily, Cadbury's Flake is still the same. I don't notice any change there. But, to make Flake, they have to add different ingrediants to make it look and taste that way.

Remember Sunshine30, that, a lot of these French chocolates are quite expensive in the UK.

Even Thorntons is expensive.

Kids go down to their local newsagent and pick up a:- mars, milky way, milky bar, kit-kat, twix, crunchie, aero, flake, dairy milk, etc... etc... and it is affordable.

But, if someone bites into a Dairy Milk and notices a change, they won't have a clue.

No problem, Ruth.El

I like Milky Bar white-chocolate and even Kinda egg. But, not Kinda bueno.

I think that ALL chocolate companies in the UK are taking out these "trans-fats", etc.. But, as Cadbury's is darker in taste than other makes on the market, where milk chocolate is concerned, then, the lack of those ingredients is more noticable.

Dentists would rather us cut out chocolate, altogether!

NHS Dentists, that is!!

Not private...

Ruth*Star 11-04-2007 07:45 PM

They would. The amount of time's a dentist has told me that eating chocolate damages my teeth. I like Cadburrys Buttons the most.

Dentists do say that, but they know that we won't stop eating chocolates.

Chocolate Buttons has also changed!

I tried some recently and they were different.

The old Cadbury's magic has gone!

without "Butter-Fat" & "Skimmed milk" it has a darker taste.
