Looks like Trump's idiotic, brainless self-serving chest-beating has given them a whole new urgency in this department.
Whoever takes Trump's place when he's impeached/steps down will really have their work cut out repairing the damage done by the Orange Twat...........if someone hasn't already nuked the US by then of course!

They're playing with fire doing this under Trumps watch.They could basically get away with almost anything with Obama leading the US.Trump will go in hard.

Trump's too busy just trying to dodge the new scandal that he's caused every day to do anything. His team is rapidly looking out for themselves (finally) with his increasingly approaching demise.
Even Jared Kushner is under investigation now and they're looking at actual criminal charges. His father will be so proud with him following in his fellonous footsteps.

Getting rid of nuclear weapons will never make as safer as the many tyrants out there will take advantage of any vulnerability. They won't think if they do it we will. They will laugh at us.

I think the leader must be insane. Trump is clearly unpredictable and NK are really pushing their luck now.

All this proves that tyrants and dictators like Kim Jong (the only people likely to actually use nuclear weapons) don't give a **** about nuclear deterrents. :shrug:

In other words, the nuclear programme is useless. The threat of MAD doesn't work on the lunatics who it needs to work with, and if it's not just for use as a deterrent and we actually launch, we're all screwed and the whole thing is irrelevant.

It's grandstanding on NK's part. They don't have a pot to piss in, the regime can't even afford to keep the lights on outside of Pyongyang. They can't engage another country in a modern warfare scenario and hope to win. All they can do is bark and maintain defences.

Except Trident literally does nothing to prevent a nuclear strike from happening. It's three submarines that will retaliate if a nuke hits the UK. It's not a defensive system, it's a revenge attack.

Trident is useless and having nuclear weapons is a fool's expensive game. Anti-Missile technology is important, preventative measures are important. Nuclear missiles that can only be used for revenge aren't. Retaliation doesn't matter to the thousands of people that have been killed in a nuclear blast, nor will it matter to the survivors who contract radiation based diseases or develop cancer or their future generations of children who will be born sick because of it.

Nuclear missiles are a waste of money, once one country launches a missile everybody ****ing dies because everyone else with nukes will respond in the same way.

Indeed. All trident really does is paint huge targets on London and Glasgow if nuclear war ever was to happen on a global scale. Theyd be some of the first bombs dropped.
