Swansea shopping centre evacuated after suspicious package is found

I was shopping in Swansea town centre around lunch time with my daughter. We were in debenhams looking at the duvet covers when we hear an announcement saying to leave the shopping centre.

The whole shopping centre and market have been evacuated due to a suspicious package being found. A young man has been arrested according to Walesonline.

We were all a bit scared. There were lots more police in town today anyway because of this week's event. So it's a good job they were there.

Not sure what the package was but he's been arrested and it seems like everything will reopen soon. Just thought I would share. R.

Unfortunate sign of the times from now on. Either other terrorists looking for glory will follow suit and/or any unattended package/bag is going to cause chaos.

Just have a blast when going to these events and don't think about it too much.:)

I'm glad you and everyone else is safe, Ronald. In a way, this makes me feel more comfortable that security and staff are being extra-vigilant at this time.

Very silly getting every one to leave at the same time meaning lots of people in the same place so bomb man can put suspicious package in shopping place and wait outside for every one no where safe apart from my house which is on red alert for the next 7 days
