Films you thought were going to be terrible but turned out amazing?

I thought Beauty & The Beast would be a horrific experience but it was so much better than I expected.

for me personally i never expected to like Prometheus, because of the high expectations it gave me due to all the other alien movies, but i found it great

hhhmm this one is harder to remember

Yeah this is difficult because I don't generally make an effort to watch movies I think will be terrible

I thought 'The Hunger Games' would be a lot more watered-down and wishy washy than it was, but I had good hopes for it so I guess that doesn't count.

I can't even think of the major franchises because the last Star Wars was excellent, but I never expected to be that bad... Oh I have one! Shrek Forever After. After the Third, which was a steaming pile of dog turd, I really didn't have any desire to watch the last one and tried to avoid it until I had to watch it around family, and I was pleasantly surprised by it. Doesn't hold a light to the first two, of course, but I'd say it was good.

I guess 21 Jump Street would be another one because who would've thought Channing Tatum would be quite funny?

The power rangers movie : because Hollywood is usually known for ****ing up reboots but they didn't with this one i loved it and thought the premesis for the film was fantastic plus I'm a massive power rangers fan I thought Bryan Cranston and Elizabeth banks did great

Logan I suppose, I mean I didn't think I'd hate it but X Men are my least favourite of all those super hero type franchises so i was surprised that Logan actually turned out to be one of my favourites (if not thee favourite) of them all so far

Withano 29-05-2017 01:48 PM

Yeh I was going to say the new Power Rangers too

Withano 29-05-2017 01:55 PM

Hmm, I only isually watch films if I think they might be good

Room
Eddie the Eagle
Cooties

I watched them out of passing the time, but actually they were great

Not really one we thought would be "bad" exactly, but "Pineapple Express" sat on my PS3's hard drive for nearly three years unwatched because we downloaded it thinking it looked OK, but then were sort of "meh" about actually watching it because we kept finding "better things" to watch. One night we couldn't find anything else to watch... ... ... and ended up really enjoying it :joker:.

I don't know about amazing but ones that were better for me than I thought they was gonna be before watching them are as followed.

Frozen
Ghost
Thor (I had really bad preconceptions about this Film)
The Hangover I (I really thought that I was gonna hate it but I ended up loving it)

I agree with you on Beauty and the Beast, best film for me this year
really didn't think they could pull it off but Disney did an amazing job
