Subway

The Subway Revolution.

How many of you have tried Subway sandwiches?

Do all of you live in the vicinity of a Subway that's just recently opened up?

And how many of you have had to get new clothes because of that darned Marinara sauce?

Yep, it's a thread about Subway. What're your thoughts on this healthy fast food revolution?

Personally, the Subway near my school is always mobbed, so I very rarely go there. I tend to go to places that serve food similar to Subway, but I've not really been taken in by it. However, I went there for my lunch today. It really is something! The quality of the food is second to none, and as abysmal as all fast-food service is, Subway's probably the best. Very quick, very fine and (relatively) cheap.

Am I the only one who seems to think Subway is going to overtake McDonalds as the world number one?

Discuss, people!

I love Subway!
The Meatball Marinaras are amazing.

... but McDonalds is legend!

I love the Meatball Marinara! It's awesome!

Hm. McDonalds. Not too keen on that, it's where all the chavs fester up here.

Mrluvaluva 11-04-2007 02:40 PM

You know what. There are loads of Subways where I work, but I have never been in. I'll have to try now!

They are rather nice... I like the Italian BMT with cheese...yum yum

You really should, at least give it a go. Definitely go for the Meatball Marinara, but only if you've got a change of shirt with you, haha. Or the Cheese and Steak one.. mm.. It's great. You get to see them make your lunch. I think that's a major plus.

Over priced sandwich shop

According to a sandwich shop near where I work, the employees of Subway prefer theirs to subway's

Mrluvaluva 11-04-2007 03:07 PM

Well I suppose Sticks you wouldn't wanna eat what you work with every day. I'll give it a go and let you know what I think.

Had my first subway back in 1992. I have only had a handful since, so I guess I can live with out them.

GiRTh 11-04-2007 03:12 PM

I like the southwest Steak and cheese. Gorgeous.

I think this claim is a bit over the top.

from the Subway site.

Question: What does Big Ben, Piccadilly Circus, the Tower of London, The BBC, double decker buses, The Royal family, The Beatles, The Rolling Stones, Rolls Royce, Jaguar, the original Mini, James Bond, Harry Potter, Charles Dickens, William Shakespeare, Monty Python, Cary Grant, Sean Connery, Alfred Hitchcock and more than 100 SUBWAY® restaurants have in common?

Answer: They are all some of the things that the UK is best known for!

I could think of a few more things that I would say were synonymous with the UK before I got to Subway.

From their respective sites.

Mcdonald's

McDonald's operates over 31,000 restaurants worldwide.

Subway

27446 Restaurants In 85 Countries

As a matter of fact, the SUBWAY® chain operates more units in the US, Canada and Australia than McDonald’s® does.

KFC

KFC has more than 11,000 restaurants in more than 80 countries

The Burger King

The Burger King has more than 11,500 outlets world wide.
