Nursery worker punched and slashed on way to work

A nursery worker was beaten up and stabbed by three women as she walked to work in east London this morning.
The woman, aged in her 30s, was walking from Wanstead station to Little Diamonds nursery on Hermon Hill when the attackers came up behind her at just after 9.30am on Wednesday.
They shoved her to the ground before punching and kicking her during the terrifying attack.
Karrien Stevens, who runs Little Diamonds nursery on Hermon Hill where the victim works, told the Standard the three attackers were “chanting the Koran”.
She said: “A staff member was coming to work when three Asian girls came up behind her chanting the Koran.“
They pulled her to the ground, kicking and punching her.“
One of them got the knife out and cut her arm.
“They were shouting about Allah, that and the Koran.”
The nursery manager added the attack had "nothing to do with the nursery".
The three attackers fled the scene before police arrived.
Met officers and paramedics sped to the scene and found the victim suffering from a stab wound.
She was taken to a hospital in east London. Her injuries are not thought to be life-threatening.

No one has yet been arrested and enquiries into what happened continue. Counter-terror police were made aware but are not leading the investigation

If this isn't copy cat I don't know what is.

Who would be leading the investigation then? And these people still haven't been found so surely this should be bigger news than it seems to be?!

Seems like a copy cat thing though as Cherie said. I think if them 3 women had wanted to do more damage or to kill that woman they probably could have, 3 against one and with a knife

There was an interview today with the mother (I think) of the Italian/Morrocan guy who was the third man that took part in the incident on London Bridge, she said in Italy he was closely monitored but when he got to the UK no one bothered with him, how did he get in here when he had already been stopped from travelling to Syria

But they could very well do the same thing later on today. They should be classed as very dangerous. Plus it could not be a copycat thing either...might be a few female Muslims who have actually been radicalized.

I don't understand this point? Surely he got in here because he came from Italy? Unless you mean he left Italy, went to Syria and the from Syria came directly here?

Our intelligence agencies need a much bigger budget and more staff so they can watch these people like ****ing hawks, seriously. 3000 known Jihadis and nowhere near enough staff to even watch half of those properly. Reports to terror hotlines ignored...its a sad state of affairs tbh.

Maybe they did. And our intelligence agencies decided he was not a risk, or weren't able to investigate him further due to underfunding or some other reason.

Slags.

What a horrible frightening experience for the woman. I hope they catch them soon.
