Big Brother 2 Africa [Spoilers]

BB Africa 2 has been confirmed. The largest BB ever, which includes 12 countries, Angola, Botswana, Ghana, Malawi, Namibia, Nigeria, Kenya, South Africa, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe. will launch on August 5th 2007 and will last 99 days.

The first series took place in 2003 and lasted 106 days. It was won by Cherise Makubale from Zambia. The first series featured a housemate swap with BBUK.

Corkie 13-04-2007 10:19 PM

It's took them a while to get a new series up and running hasn't it?

Arneldo 13-04-2007 10:23 PM

I dont think the first series was very popular and thats why it didnt return. I think there giving it another try.

This is a English speaking BB so if torrents are available then i might tune in.

MarkWaldorf 13-04-2007 10:39 PM

Yeah, I read on BBBA. I'll deffo check it out if the torrents are up.

Rory 13-04-2007 10:48 PM

I wonder if it will air on The Africa Channel over here in the US. There are constant reruns of the first BB Africa.

Big Brother Africa 2

'The Big Brother Africa 2' housemates will occupy a new 'Big Brother' house, situated somewhere in South Africa. "The exact location and details of the house remain a secret for now," says Fischer.

One thing we do know is that it will be a totally different house to the previous one, as that has been incorporated into M-Net's broadcast facilities ('Deal Or No Deal' is currently filmed in the old house).

One of the 12 housemates will be a South African citizen. To find the other contestants, 'Big Brother' will cast its eye over Angola, Botswana, Ghana, Malawi, Namibia, Nigeria, Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe.

The person who manages to stay in the house for the longest will walk off with 100,000 US dollars.

Entries for 'Big Brother Africa' opened on Friday (13 April). Entry forms are available online at www.mnet.co.za or at the Multichoice offices in Johannesburg, Cape Town and Durban.

The selection committee will be looking for a South African 'Big Brother Africa 2' contestant who is fun-loving, creative, original, articulate and opinionated (i.e. a drunken lout who doesn't mind showing off their whang in the shower on national telly).

The closing date for entries is 2 May 2007.

'Big Brother Africa 2' will be screened 24/7 on a dedicated DStv channel and the four daily highlight shows (Tuesday to Friday) and weekly nomination and eviction show will be on M-Net's AfricaMagic channel, also on DStv.

Well I live in the US. I'm not sure if you do. It's the Africa Channel. I get it on Comcast, but it didn't work on my last cable company. (It's premium cable)

dtd2 10-06-2007 09:15 PM

Yeah, I live in the States as well. I have digital comcast. The Africa Channel, I will have to see if I have it. I just looked and of course I don't. I wish BBC America would air the British version, that would be great.

Matt 10-06-2007 09:37 PM

Cool, I might look in on it :cheer2:

The BBC don't broadcast Big Brother UK. Channel 4 does.

dtd2 14-06-2007 01:08 PM

Yes I know that, but BBC America broadcasts shows that air on other channels other then just the BBC. For instance Hollyoaks, Green Wing, The F Word, and Shameless from Channel 4, and footballers Wives and Weakest Link from ITV airs on BBC America.

Matt 14-06-2007 01:13 PM

Are you sure? Weakest Link is on BBC2 over here :spin:

Rory 14-06-2007 05:43 PM

We get "Whose Line", Hollyoaks, The F Word, Green Wing, Shipwrecked, and I think Shameless on BBC America.

BBC America has no plans to air BBUK, I emailed them. I don't know why, because it'd certainly draw more viewers than those Benny Hill and Whose Line reruns we get all day.

dtd2 15-06-2007 02:51 AM

Oh sorry, I thought for some reason that Weakest Link was on ITV for some reason, not sure why. But, basically they air shows that air on 4, ITV, and Sky as well.

Matt 15-06-2007 12:07 PM

Nope. Weakest Link is a BBC format. C4 have Deal Or No Deal over here.

Arneldo 28-07-2007 11:37 PM

The advert for BB2 Africa has started to air on TV.

Captain.Remy 29-07-2007 06:24 AM

Is there any way to watch it ? At least, if there isn't, I hope we can download it by torrents !

Captain.Remy 04-08-2007 09:47 PM

MarkWaldorf 04-08-2007 09:48 PM

Thanks for them Remy! It's tomorrow right? I hope a torrent comes up for it.

Captain.Remy 04-08-2007 09:51 PM

Yep it's tomorrow noght, I hope there is a torrent, I want to follow it ! The house is awesome isn't it ?

Wasted 04-08-2007 09:53 PM

I might see what it's like if there are torrents. Is the format any different to the UK version or is it similar?

MarkWaldorf 04-08-2007 09:54 PM

Me too, but I don't think many people will be watching it online...I hope so though.

Yeah it is, it looks funky.
