Rebecca saying 'don't comment on someone's appearance' to Joe...

Is this the same woman who refuses to hire girls who don't wear make up? :conf:

Oliver_W 19-06-2017 05:43 PM

Spoiler:

I'm guessing she would hire Joe.

Well, if you're ugly, that's hard to fix, so shouldn't be commented on. If you don't wear makeup, you can fix that by ... wearing makeup.

Very good point Hayden.

Fair point, but her ideaology is that not wearing make-up to an interview is unprofessional. She doesn't factor in how ugly or attractive the person is alone. I don't agree with her but I'd say she sees it in two different ways

ethanjames 19-06-2017 06:01 PM

how is she still in

caprimint 19-06-2017 06:03 PM

That's not commenting on someone's actual appearance at all though, it's literally just referring to wearing make-up, very different situations

Unless I have missed something Joe didn't comment on her appearance...he told her she 'irritates him'...and Rebecca said he was rude and imagine if someone spoke to your daughter like that...no mention of appearances...

Well it is though because in Rebecca's head she isn't giving another woman a job unless they do something to alter their appearance in some way?

Make up doesn't necessarily alter apperance as such.

I only wear mascara and bit of pencil in my brows for work so I alter nothing really lol

its not related at all?

unless you can show how its related

(which i doubt)

SteveG2688 19-06-2017 06:48 PM

Im sorry but makeup DOES change the way you look and seeing as she wouldn't hire someone who doesn't wear makeup to me is what i personally would class as judging someones appearance.

Well said. Rebecca said she wouldn't hire someone by the way they look, ie with no make up.

Meaning she has an opinion that women with no make up don't look as good as women with make up. An opinion based on looks and how someone appears.

rusticgal 19-06-2017 06:58 PM

He didn't mention the way she looks....he said she irritated him!!!:fist:

JTM45 19-06-2017 07:12 PM

Her telling her two daughters that they won't be taken seriously if they don't wear make-up is appaling in my opinion!
What a shallow woman.

It's not about changing someone's appearance, it's about making an effort

It's not at all actually. It's about conforming to a stereotype of what women 'should' look like. So wrong!

OK Gok wan, you obviously dont use aftershave or comb your hair, or should we men that do get the tag of stereotype, or are you just down on women. Most if not all women wear makeup, or are you one for the plain look. My guess is you dont like women and want them to be plain janes, sad that, you sound hurt. Bless you and sorry if we men offend your views

You prove your ignorance with every incorrect assumption you make in this 'post'. You're consistent in that though. Well done.

I love women and support their right to make their own decisions, unlike yourself apparently.

I thought you were putting me on ignore ? Best jog on and get it done so i don't have to put up with you constantly making incorrect stereotypical 'ass'umptions about me. :wavey:

Your self-proclaimed 'manliness' is just too much for me........:laugh3:

Tbf there's a difference between what Rebecca has enforced at work to Joe attacking someone's appearance that can't be fixed, unless you want to pay a ridiculous amount of money on Plastic Surgery anyway.

Niamh. 19-06-2017 08:48 PM

hhhmm that's a good point tbf, she also stated very loudly that Joe should stay out of her personal space (which he should) but then literally 3 seconds later was all up in Kierans (eventhough he was being a dick)

What on earth do you mean?

A very clear and simple statement in reply to a ridiclous claim to the contrary is too complex for you to comprehend is it ? Very sorry but it's impossible to break it down into an even clearer statement.

To put in my 2 cents....

Rebecca had a problem when he sad her smile irritated her. Rebecca can't help her smile, yet people can help wearing makeup. I don't agree with Rebecca's views on makeup, but with her company I can understand her logic that the women she hires must wear makeup (women are beautiful without makeup, but some men won't see it that way) but she hasnt said she has a problem with anyone not wearing makeup. Therefore, I dont think its hypocritical that she was upset that something she can't help was criticised
