Aaliyah Dana Haughton[1] (January 16, 1979 – August 25, 2001[2]), known professionally as Aaliyah, was an American R&B singer, dancer, model and actress. She was also a Grammy-nominated singer. Introduced to audiences by R&B singer R. Kelly, Aaliyah became famous during the mid-1990s with several hit records from the songwriting/production team of Missy Elliott and Timbaland, and their associate Steve "Static" Garrett.

Notable for recording several hit records, including several number one R&B hits, a number one pop hit, and nine top 10 singles on the Billboard Hot 100. She also modeled for Tommy Hilfiger and starred in two motion pictures before dying in a plane crash in the Bahamas.

I had never heard of her. I went into a local store and I remember I got a Mary J Blige CD and I got a CD by Sweet Sable. The guy behind the desk said "If you like that you will love this" , so I bought it. That was a long time ago, and I still love it to this day.

Got a few. My fave is "What's the 411" remix. Think I was buying "My Life" at the time though.

I adore Aaliyah...she had one of the best voices I have ever heard in my life!

I loved all the songs, especially 'More Than A Women' and 'Loose Rap' amazing women.

She won't be forgotten anyway.
