School/University Shootings
Someone on the channel 4 news earlier tonight suggested that these maniacs are almost trying to outdo each other to take the crown for the worst school shooting. She mentioned that a lot of these are "copycat" incidents.
I would agree with this. So, how far will it go? Where does it end? There have been 18 school/university shootings in the USA in the last 10 years. I think that's a shocking statistic! Discuss. |
It takes a pretty screwed up person to do it. And they all end up dead. Such selfish acts.

better not be happening in london universities

Omfg 18 in the last 10 years?
I had no idea:sad: I think its terrible. Why, why would ANYONE do it? Why????? What would possess someone to do it? Its just sick. |
I think it's disgraceful that someone could do that and kill innocent people, saw on ITV news a few of the people killed and by the sounds of things they were all good people who had bright futures, as for that guy who died (the oldish one) holding the door open for others to escape and survive that was such a brave thing to do, he lost his life for others not many people would have even considered doing that let alone actually doing it. I personally don't see these sort of incidents stopping and like most people have already said the statistics are unbelievable.

The news released today showing him between killings was very disturbing indeed. One sick individual that young man was. We have a bad enough gun culture in the UK but legal gun culture is sheer madness. No way are the americans going to ever turn over their consitutional right to bare arms though even though killings like this are ever increasing.
My heart goes out to everyone at the school and all those families and friends who have lost loved ones. |
THE grandfather of the Virginia Tech killer Cho Seung-hui said he felt grief, anguish and sorrow over the mass shooting and offered his deepest sympathies to the victims and their families.
"Seung-hui troubled his parents when he was young because he wouldn't talk, but he was well-behaved," said the man, who asked to be called Mr Kim, in interviews with two Korean newspapers. "I don't know how I can compensate for the responsibility for raising my kids improperly. I don't know how he could do this when his parents went to a country far away and worked hard." Source: Sydney Morning Herald We often forget about the family of the killer. It's not their fault and yet they must bear the burden of guilt just the same. -------------------------------------- Also, I found this chilling picture on the news sites. I couldn't help thinking that this was the last sight a lot of young people seen in their short lives. |
