Do you think Ellie prodding Tom was inappropriate?

Tom clearly didn't like it, but Ellie carried on. If it was a man doing this to a woman he would get in trouble. So why if a woman does it it's acceptable?

I think there's already a thread about this, but yeah, I think it was wrong. She continued even after he was clearly bothered and squeezed his bum cheek too. That's so disrespectful. Maybe she's used to guys treating her like that but it was uncomfortable to watch.

I thought the same, tbh. He even told her to stop, so I wonder if she'll be given a warning..

It's sexual harassment.

In situations like this, I dont think it matters what I personally think, I usually just see it from the viewpoint of the victim, which is why for instance, I didnt slate Tom for throwing Lotans naked body on Sav, she seemed okay with it. I also got the impression that Tom was on the jokey side of things? But it would have been nice for Bb to clear that up in a diary room chat

I don't think he was bothered about it but yes it was still inappropriate, she was literally trying to finger him :skull:

DouglasS 04-07-2017 12:35 PM

It was inappropriate but definitely not sexual harassment, they were just friends having a laugh. Tom clearly wasn't too bothered about it.

i actually totally missed that :worry: the whole show was too Ellie/sam orientated and I was very uninterested

I'm surprised she didn't get told off for that.

Cherie 04-07-2017 12:38 PM

Tom is too nice to tell her to do one, I think she just doesn't know where to draw the line, but that reversed male on female and that male would be cautioned at the very least..

yeah definitely

storybrooke 04-07-2017 12:51 PM

It was inappropriate but doesn't look like any warnings or further action was taken

smudgie 04-07-2017 01:43 PM

She should have stopped the first time he told her to.
Uncomfortable viewing really, she should get a warning.

Littlegreen 04-07-2017 01:46 PM

It seemed all innocent and a laugh. But he did tell her to "stop" and she didn't... it's a fine line, isn't it?

Northern Monkey 04-07-2017 02:50 PM

I hope he'd wiped.Don't want poor Ellie getting smelly

Yeah I agree with this.

However, Tom doesn't seem the type to make a fuss about it if he was uncomfortable. Which he seemed to be towards the end of that whole thing. and yes, no matter what the person on the receiving end thought, if it had been a bloke doing it to a woman he would be hauled over hot coals for it D:
