Would there be reality stars on BB if it was on C4 now?

When BB finished on C4 in 2010, shows like Geordie Shore, EOTB, The Valleys and others didn't really exist, yet we still had 'fame seeking housemates' especially on the later series of the show. Had it carried on C4 do you think they'd have cast people like Lateysha and Chanelle who'd been on other shows as it's a product of the new wave of RTV?

Being on BB makes the housemates reality stars. They give up their ordinary citizen status on launch night.

Yes i don't think it's a CH5 thing, i think it's to do with how media culture has evolved.

Back in the CH4 days, there was no social media and online platform to build followers and advertise yourself. Back then if you wanted to be famous you had to have a talent or a REASON.

Nowadays people want to be famous for NO REASON other than fame itself. All they need now is the platform, the followers etc.

We now get civilian HMs who already have agents! That would never have happened 10 years ago.

Strange world of egotistical shallow fame-hungry wannabes we live in now. Everyone can be a star online and on reality tv now. But how long before the bubble bursts and audiences get bored of the same old 'look at me' types and want ACTUAL TALENT again like it used to be.

They don't become stars anymore. The most followed twitter houseguest [that wasn't a reality star prior or in the public eye; Chanelle, Kayleigh, Rebecca, Lotan]

Like Raph, Deborah etc have below 4,000 twitter followers, people like Simone have below 1k. BB gets you about 5k twitter followers now if your lucky and a popular houseguest. When Josie/John James/Sam Pepper were on in the final series of BB on ch4, it got them each over 120k twitter followers within days. [Heck even in BB14 Gina, Dexter etc got 70k followers after leaving, something big happened between BB14 to now about the interest of BB and the houseguests]

Love Island also gets all the contestants that are in longer than a week 50k plus twitter followers, they become reality stars. The public don't have interest in the BB houseguests.

I don't think so - ch4 done ground breaking with big brother and they kept the formula the same all the way through - don't think they would have tampered with it.

I'm not sure about BB- maybe one every couple of series
But definitely CBB, they'd be stupid not to - a big part of the audience probably watch to see their Fave Geordie Shore star etc which is why they usually do well

I dont think Channel 4 would have put reality Z-listers in. Like someone else has said channel 4 kept the same formula all the way through till the u
