Left wing brainwashing of the young has become a serious issue in education today. I would also argue that it has spread to most social media sites with any opposition to socialism/socialist views being challenged with a lot of hostility.

These far-left supporters use underhand tactics to undermine those that won't bow down to their way of thinking and follow the crowd.

It's good to see young people who are prepared to openly criticise this kind of behaviour.

One womans experience is just that. What if I said I had the exact opposite experience? Doesn't really mean too much in the grand scheme of things does it.

Somehow I doubt it would have made a national newspaper based on one person's opinion. More and more people are questioning the extremism of left-wing socialism which is clearly becoming less tolerant and more controlling. We see it everywhere including on here.

They have become everything they claim they hate about conservatism - they have just put their own stamp on it.

Many of the baby boomers of the 60s did well from Thatcher policy, especially when it came to buying cheap property. In the 80s, those living on welfare still had the interest on their mortgages paid for by the state and they were watching the value of their homes sour to records never seen before. Many of the elderly today, live in property that cost them £20k and is now worth £500k. In certain areas of London that property is now worth well over a £million. They have a lot to thank the Tories for because these are the people who were able to take early retirement to live in sunny Portugal with no money worries.

My parents like to remind me that they worked hard for what they've got and although I don't doubt that they did, I remind them that no matter how hard equally qualified people work today, they will never have the same opportunities they did, unless they get a healthy inheritance.

This is one persons experience, that is the point of the website you used, any one person who wants to write an article can - they get social media bragging rights and maybe something for their CV, the independent gets all of the ad-revenue money, everybody wins.
it hasn't made a national newspaper - its made the 'we will publish your ****ty have-a-go journalism and keep all the ad revenue we make off you' segment of their website.
So back to my original point, one persons experience is just that. Me having the opposite experience would be just that. Doesn't mean much at all. She needs better friends or a taste of the real world, it isnt all picnics and people agreeing with your every word.

She is just saying what many are thinking and others have also been saying.

The writer of the article is just another wannabe victim that can't stand that her opinion is no longer one that's shared by the vast majority of the public. She can't stand that other viewpoints exist and can gain as much traction as hers' can so she does what so many weak people do and try to sling mud to discredit her opposition instead of winning through discussion.

I don't think the young are brainwashed.
I think this generation has been able to think for themselves and make more decisions than I ever did when I was young.
Definitely more on the ball politics wise than my friends and I were.:shrug:

No they aren't. They are just in the minority. Just like the Young on the whole are in the minority and have had to put up with Brexit and Torrie governments as a result.


Also the constant referral to young voters being "brainwashed" or "Naive" or whatever else you use to belittle them just because they have different views to you is sad.

Another case of 'I don't like what I have just read, so it isn't true or it has no merit'. So predictable.
