Has BB18 delivered on it’s promise?

When it was being promoted, BB18 was said to be going back to it’s roots, being a social experiment etc. Do you think it has delivered on that promise?

Greg! 25-07-2017 03:07 PM

No lmao. But it has been a good series.

Epic. 25-07-2017 03:08 PM

100% no it hasnt

Jodie. 25-07-2017 03:14 PM

For me, obviously you can tell it’s a C5 series, but I think it’s the most C4-esque we’ve had. There has been a return of some things from C4:

-Lots of late entrants
-Minimal twists
-3 day shopping tasks
-Balanced edit
-No chasing ratings
-A 4 person finale

^just some I can think of

Underscore 25-07-2017 03:15 PM

Na only C4 could do that

lewis111 25-07-2017 03:17 PM

No - launch night twist was the least "back to basics" thing ever with the outside contact

Imran and Suhkvinder were very C4 like HMs but we booted them so it went back to C5

BB13, BB12 and somewhat BB14 are waaaaaay more c4 than this series lol

Niamh. 25-07-2017 03:19 PM

In some ways but the sheer amount of minor reality stars in it counters all that stuff. It was still an enjoyable series though

Time 25-07-2017 03:19 PM

The complete opposite if anything

BB13 and BB12 were too tacky, TOWIE like; BB14 has too many twists imo
(I get what you mean, but I’m taking everything into consideration, like editing etc)

Jake. 25-07-2017 03:19 PM

No but the editing has been more balanced and it's been a bit more "fun" than previous series

Okay then in that regard I get what you mean but then going by your rules I would say that BB14 is the most C4?

Like this year's editing has been balanced but it's been REALLY tacky and while BB14 might have had more twists (I don't think it did) every twist that series was well thought out, this year's twists are clearly thought up last minute and are all awfully executed.

Are you sure

Samm 25-07-2017 05:09 PM

skhdhd no still the same old, I guess the only positive is that the cast diversity improved a tad

reece(: 25-07-2017 05:17 PM

"United Kingdom of Big Brother"

Please welcome Sam and Savannah!

RhysJones 25-07-2017 06:21 PM

Not particularly, but it has been the best series in years so they've done a good job especially with the casting

Crimson Dynamo 25-07-2017 06:21 PM

its been a car crash and it will be the last ever BB

dreadful

supertv247 25-07-2017 06:29 PM

IMO no not at all, except from the diversity. The cast has been very diverse (although still reality star heavy) more so than any other C5 series
