The Last Civilian BB then?

Surely after the ratings being an absolute disaster this series this is officially the end now? Did anyone hear any hints about next year tonight?

andybigbro 28-07-2017 11:21 PM

No but hopefully after CBB Emma will mention auditions for BB19 :fc:

Ant. 28-07-2017 11:21 PM

Nope - not on the main show or BOTS. If we don't hear anything at the end of CBB20 we can only presume it's finished - but the contract is secured until 2018 and they say they'd never do CBB without BB

Jodie. 28-07-2017 11:25 PM

They’re waiting to see how CBB20 does before deciding on anything; the whole BBUK franchise relies on that for it to continue after 2018

Which is really scary but yeah

Rob! 28-07-2017 11:26 PM

NOT the future of the show relying on Barry from Eastenders

But they renewed it until 2018

No. They're a package. If they only wanted one they'd need to negotiate a new deal. But I think Endemol have said in the past they are not interested in selling one without the other.

Glenn-C 28-07-2017 11:31 PM

Like someone said earlier, it'd be more expensive for them to buy out of the contract than to do another series

They said the whole BBUK franchise depended on CBB20 - implying if CBB20 flopped, we wouldn't have any BB in 2018 (including CBB)

While they could always just do CBB, I'm sure they said they'd never have one without the other

supertv247 29-07-2017 01:27 AM

If CBB20 flops badly and they do decide to just axe it all or axe the civilian version before finishing the contract, it would cost them a lot to air nothing next year so chances are there definately will be another series. Maybe no more though.
As for auctions, if they don't advertise for them, it could mean it's all stars...

Stevenaj98 29-07-2017 01:32 AM

I think civilian BB will be finished now with an all stars series next year to round it off

:skull: I keep reading 2018 as "BB18"

Greg! 29-07-2017 11:29 AM

I think they'll air one last BB next year, and the summer CBB will be replaced by another Ultimate Big Brother to give it a good send off.

Nicky91 29-07-2017 11:30 AM

i hope not :worry:

y.winter 29-07-2017 11:43 AM

2018 will be the last year of BB on C5.
BB18 rating (due to horrible production of course) has set the last nail in the coffin.

bots 29-07-2017 11:59 AM

who knows enough here to say if it would cost C5 anything or not if they axed it. Unless anyone here is familiar with all the contract details then its pure conjecture.

Only C5 know of the economic viability of BB and they will axe it quick enough if it doesn't meet the standards they require.

Ant. 29-07-2017 12:00 PM

Make or Break and (supposedly) Survivor seem to be replacing BB, but we were told C4 would axe BB mid-BB10 - I'd imagine we'd be told soon.
Big Brother was only renewed until 2018 in March 2015 (or at least that's when they announced the renewal, since we did have CBB15 in January) so if ut is renewed, we might only find out in early 2019

Underscore 29-07-2017 12:05 PM

Bully everyone you know into watching CBB20! Lock them up and force the TV on if you have to! We need this to continue

Underscore 29-07-2017 12:05 PM

Tbh I think the Summer CBBs are more likely to flop because more people are on holiday??

I mean I was able to watch BB from Crete but that's because we have a villa with good wifi.

sungrass 29-07-2017 12:15 PM

It might have low ratings but it has the highest ratings for C5 - they wont axe it - dont even talk about that!! - what are they gonna replace it with? I dont watch ANYTHING else on C5 - do you guys?
