Least watched BB final ever

Less than 1m viewers, hope the producers take note and go back to try civilians next series

Agreed. I want people not been on tv before. Go back to basics.

TaylorCallum 29-07-2017 04:08 PM

The sad thing is it was one of the best finals in years and the final four were not reality stars, they were normal people. I hope the producers get that message.

Amy Jade 29-07-2017 04:08 PM

All 5 in the final were civilian. I feel sad it didn't do well.

Time 29-07-2017 04:09 PM

Shame about the viewing figures as it was a really good final.

TaylorCallum 29-07-2017 04:11 PM

Wasn't CBB the least watched winter series as well? I feel like Summer CBB is going to follow. A terrible year :skull:.

Greg! 29-07-2017 04:12 PM

an amazing series, deserved more viewers!

Barry. 29-07-2017 04:13 PM

Love Island did that.

Overnight, not official yet

Ant. 29-07-2017 05:30 PM

It's a shame - this was easily the best final in years.

reece(: 29-07-2017 05:31 PM

An underground movement series?

Novo 29-07-2017 05:32 PM

Best final in years isn't saying much, its been trash for god knows how long still never expected it to get under 1 million, that's just whole new for BB

Many did not know it was on.

I was at another office today
I asked a new 18 year old worker
did she watch the
Big Brother Final ,last night on Ch5HD
she was shocked - she did not
even know it was on.

I said Celeb Big Brother starts
in a few days do not miss it
she said thanks for telling me.

Raph was in the final tbf if you wanted a Civilian to win Civilian BB.

And I don't know if the other three have ever done anything away from BB.

Marsh. 29-07-2017 06:41 PM

It's not really a reflection on the cast. The show is 18 years old.

And Ch5 managed the show terribly down to keep moving it's time slot, to constantly focusing on Showmances in every series. And then crossing a new low in this series of if your name wasn't Ellie you were lucky to get a tenth of the screentime because her two Showmances were so much more important and interesting that it killed the activity on the Forums each week that they focused on them.

I honestly think that Ellie dominating the highlights with an iron fist killed BB off as a franchise once and for all.

BB has been going a fair while now but is still a good idea.

I agree with Mock, some viewers possibly saw the manufactured showmance Road again with Ellie and Sam so backed off

However viewers like continuity of show and time slots too.
This series has been all over the place as to starting time.
The worst thing and this even sickens me,are the now endless interfering twists BB insist on doing.
It detracts from the programming and even can make a mockery of votes cast by public, when BB hand over to housemates after a public vote.

Back to the basic idea, let things flow with far more challenging shopping tasks.
Stop regular fiddling with noms and evictions then this could still work for a fair time to come.

A lot of people didn't like the excess outside contact this year, and then coupled with the fact that there were so many housemates with other TV experience really put people off. Hopefully it will return back to its roots soon

Ashley. 29-07-2017 07:39 PM

The damage is irreversible. Even if the show does, in the near future, produce a series of the same quality as some of the older ones, I doubt there would be that much of an improvement in terms of ratings.

They need a brand new theme. Something that audience can relate to. They need to find problems for housemate for example:
1) Divorced couple trying to rekindle what they had
2) A women who never met her father before. They chuck in the father, but father doesn't know that's her daughter

Am I the only one thinking a life coach could help sort some of their personal issues?
Because some of them are in there to change and to have a full journey about themselves, and we would learn more about them than watching them argue over pancakes/spaghetti/role models to your son/chocking bags/brushing hair in the kitchen (pick your choice)

This tbh, whenever I mention BB to anyone they always something like 'is that even still on' or 'noone watches that anymore'... most people wouldn't even know who's in the cast to begin with.

I have seen plenty of praise for the housemate teaser so it could do well.
